+Camera techniquesThese are some camera techniques that were shown in Mondays:

0:01 The film starts off with an Establishing shot of Salford and shows us that the time is early morning and the film is going to be shot in a city location.

The next shot (0:08) is an extreme wide shot which shows an building that has the location of where the film was shot.

At 0:13 the composition of the person in the shot talking shows us it is a Noddy shot showing us the environment and the subject. Shallow depth of field so that you can only focus on the person speaking.

0:20 A medium close-up of the subject standing in front of the camera not speaking with a voice over, so that you either focus on his voice or the person, allowing you to engage more to the documentary. At 0:21 it cuts to a close up of the subjects face allowing us to concentrate only on the subject.

At 0:36 close-up of another person that cuts some of the subjects face allows you to concentrate on the subjects eyes. Known as a cut-in

0:53 another cut in of another person , but only focusing on the subjects mouth. The different camera techniques for people indicates that everyone is different and what they feel about a certain day maybe different to another person

1:08 a two person shot of two college students

1:15 a Noddy shot of a person laughing and is repeated at 2:06 and 2:35, makes the documentary light-hearted and humorous at the same time.

1:17 to 1:19 the camera is a little bit unsteady, this shot could be hand-held or they were trying to balance the camera on the tripod.

At 1:37 a long shot of two people and is different to the previous shots as all of them had shallow depth of field, so they want us to focus on the two subjects and the environment .

At 2:08 a high angle shot of the subject showing us a different perspective of a person this could represent people are unalike and can have different thoughts and opinions should have different camera techniques to show people as individuals.

+Sound

The short film has a diegetic and non diegetic sound throughout the whole documentary.

When a person is talking it is clear.

Voice overs on top of shots of a person looking at the camera with the voice speaking. Allows you to concentrate on the voice and not the image of the person.

The music was relaxing and calm appropriate for a Monday morning and didn’t clash with the people speaking this is to change the mood of the short film making it light-hearted and enjoyable to watch.
