choice and self-determination.
Philip E. Lian &
Joan L. Mueller
May 24, 2021
Dear Friends of Community Options,
It is so exciting to pick up a club and put down the mask. I will
bet this is one of the first fundraising golf tournaments you have
participated in since the pandemic began.
On behalf of the board, and all the families we support, I want to
thank you for attending Community Options’ 2021 iMatter Spring Golf
Classic. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to TPC Jasna
Polana. In case you did not know, Jasna Polana in Polish means,
“Beautiful Meadow”. Hopefully you will land on the beautiful green
and stay out of the meadows.
We are excited to spend this day together in support of our mission
to develop housing and employment for people with disabilities. We
have been in business as a nonprofit for over 32 years. It is quite
exciting.
Please remember that every dollar raised from this event will
directly improve life for people with disabilities. Your generosity
builds and maintains supportive housing, helps people achieve
personal goals, and furthers our vision to dismantle institutions
and make our workplaces and communities inclusive.
We would like to once again thank our Event Sponsors, Philip Lian
and his wife Joan Mueller, for their steadfast support of Community
Options. We thank Phil and Joan for their generosity, and we thank
the corporations for their loyalty. Despite the pandemic, we have
support from a variety of wonderful companies including Withum,
Ocean First, Haldeman Ford, Provident Bank, and Valley Bank. I hope
that everyone will consider reaching out to help us even more this
year as it has been extremely difficult on staff and those we
support.
Dedication to our mission and to people with disabilities has been
critical to numerous fundraising events, campaigns, and projects,
as well as our Princeton flower store, Vaseful. Please feel free to
order flowers from our VASEFUL.COM operation if you want to keep
persons with disabilities employed and help them achieve their
goals.
Hopefully, the government will allow us to have a sit-down dinner
next year. In the meantime, we wish you the best of luck today and
hope you participate in our future events for many years to
come.
Sincerely,
16 Farber Road, Princeton, NJ 08540 Phone: 609.951.9900 Fax:

About Us
Community Options, Inc. was incorporated on February 9, 1989. With
a mission to develop housing and employment opportunities for
people with disabilities, Community Options believes in the dignity
of every person, and in the freedom of all people to experience the
highest degree of self-determination. Throughout its history,
Community Options has participated in institutional closure and
community residential placement for thousands of people across
several states. As a national agency, Community Options does not
administer any large programs; rather, we recognize that people
with the most severe disabilities require environments, equipment,
clinical staff, and supports that are individualized and tailored
to their specific needs. Community Options programs and services
include community-based living, employment supports, high school
transition programs, and specialized programs for respite and
medically fragile people with disabilities.
The officers, management and staff of Community Options have many
years of experience in providing community based residential and
employment support to people with intellectual and developmental
disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down
Syndrome, physical disabilities, traumatic brain injury and dual
diagnoses. The agency has developed an expertise in working with
state and county-based authorities to facilitate community
placement for persons moving from institutions, as well as
transitioning from their family home. This expertise includes the
utilization of national staff to support locally recruited
executive directors in submitting individualized service plans,
locating and securing appropriate homes, condos and apartments, and
recruiting and training experienced staff. Community Options has a
vast network of experts and consultants in the field of
intellectual and developmental disabilities to assist staff in
designing and operating services that meet very specific needs.
Community Options contracts with various government entities and is
supported by dedicated staff in programs throughout several states:
Arizona, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. Additionally, the
organization is experienced in providing international support
services in Europe, South America, and the Middle East. Community
Options is a registered Private Voluntary Organization with
USAID.
