Mental Health Crisis Services for Children and AdolescentsIn late 2017, Monarch opened the SECU Youth Crisis Center, a Monarch program, in Charlotte. The Center is the first step in life-changing treatment for young people ages 6 to 17 that are experiencing a mental health crisis. This is the first center of its kind in North Carolina and will serve as a model for similar, much-needed programs across the state. Since it opened, the SECU Youth Crisis Center, a Monarch program has provided strong, clinically sound care to nearly 700 emotionally fragile children and their families. Tournament support will help a child navigate a crisis and return to home and school as quickly as possible. It will help a family find the tools it needs to help a teenager recover from mental illness and it will ensure these critical services are available to all kids and families, regardless of ability to pay.

Creative Community-Based Day ProgramsMonarch’s Day Programs provide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a place where they have access to supportive services, life-skill-building and learning activities, social interaction and community involvement. Program participants engage in daily activities like pottery, art, nutrition and cooking, exercise and dance, community gardening, local volunteer service and adult basic education classes. The programs provide safe, engaging, community-focused opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Monarch Facility EnhancementsWarm, welcoming spaces are critical for successful treatment, recovery and support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders. They offer a safe, comfortable place for people to engage in the life-changing programs and services we provide. Monarch is committed to providing the children, adolescents and adults we support with high-quality care in our behavioral health offices, day programs and group homes and apartments, and that commitment extends to our facilities as well.
