Odds are also important to consider when choosing your horse. Horses that are thought to have a better chance of winning will typically have lower odds.
Morning line oddsOdds listed in the race program are the “morning line” odds. These are predictions of how the public will bet on the race. They are set by the track’s handicapper when the race program is published, before the wagering starts.
The actual odds will be posted on the Television or in-field on the Tote Board before the race; they change up until post time, depending on how customers are betting on each horse in the race.
Calculating a $2 win prizeTo calculate a win prize, find the Odds of a horse on the Television or Tote Board (in-field board).
Multiply the first number by 2, then divide that number by the second digit (if there is one), and then add $2. Simple as that!
All of the numbers and letters in the program might seem confusing or overwhelming at first, but focusing on these sections makes choosing a horse simple.

Helpful facts for betting• Some racetracks have a television simulcast
commentator who tries to identify winning horses (handicaps) between the races. Listen and see if you can pick up any good tips to bet on.
• A good betting method is to choose horses with current odds two to three times higher than their morning line odds.

3 TREASURED TEE might be ready to rock now that he’s had an extended vacation followed by a respectable qualifier and one start at a higher level where he simply took back and found the shortest way around the track. He was in pretty good form until shortly before the layup as he did win at NW7 in a sizzling 1:51.3 and in two starts in July he managed to crack the top three in the Preferred Trot where he faced the likes of Run Director, Emoticon Hanover and others who were willing and able to go sub-1:53 speed.
1 MEADOWBRANCH MEMO has been awfully close in each of two races since taking down the ‘for sale’ sign and once again he looks like should be a threat. With Roy taking the night off, the assignment falls to James MacDonald. While we generally avoid horses with substitute drivers, this is a special case as Roy was simply not available.
7 TRIX AND STONES hadn’t raced in more than a month when he went to the gate on 02/17 so it wasn’t a huge surprise that he accepted an inside trip and missed the money round. What he did do was trot home in 27.1 which was the best of any in that field and had he not been bottled up tight at the top of the stretch he might have got even more. We thought he had some potential when he drew inside on 02/24 but he squandered what might have been a good trip when he broke at the gate. There’s still some “price” appeal here.
5 MORALLY FLEXIBLE is headed in the opposite direction as stablemate Treasured Tee in that he is moving up a notch and not even off a win. Last time out he finished in the runner-up spot behind yet another stablemate in U Need Stones who was making his local bow.
ON THIS DATE… 1789 – Pennsylvania ended the prohibition of theatrical performances

2 GOLDEN DYNAMITE wouldn’t have to be much better than he was in either of his last two to win this edition of the NW2 Trot. He got within a head of the favoured HP Bruxelles on 02/17 and would have won it all had they gone another step or two. Yes, he was closing that fast in a race with a stepped-up back half. Last week he got hung up on bad cover and simply had too far to come once he got rolling.
5 CHARMBO PRINCE has yet to crack the 1:57.3 barrier so it’s tough to say if he’ll have the 1:55 mile in him that it will likely take to win the race. The encouraging part is that he finished off his 02/17 race with a 26.4 last quarter that was the fastest in that field and tied as third fastest of the night!
3 SAVINI is a solid prospect to connect at NW2 as he stayed relatively close in some fast miles while contesting the Pepsi Trotting Series with horses 11-time winner Refi, 5-time winner Steuben Hanover, recent back-to-back winner Blazing Trail, and others of that ilk. McNair is obviously a great replacement for the absent Roy.
1 DELILAH SEELSTER looks much better now that she has drawn an inside post for this second crack at NW2. Mind you she did race at this level prior to the Pepsi Series and was once a close second to P C Justa Dream who went on to win three straight, including one at NW4, before tasting defeat.
9 TLF ROYAL LAKE definitely has some potential but whether he can connect from Post 9 is another matter. I’m going to take a rain-check and consider him a little more seriously should he draw inside or mid gate for his next start at this level.
ON THIS DATE… 1853 – Peter Simple and jockey Tom Oliver won the Grand National for the third time, becoming the oldest horse to win the event at 15

5 AMERICAN WIGGLE is back for a rematch with Avatar J after being nipped in the closing strides of their last outing. In that 02/22 race it was American Wiggle who made a sacrificial first-over move on Pro Beach (9-5) but all that did was tow Avatar J up into the race. The fact that the margin was just a neck speaks to American Wiggle’s tenacity. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that he faced the likes of Mongolian Hero N, Heza Thrill N, Julerica, Ideal Jet, Regal Son, Cheapskate Hanover and others who would all be well received in a race like this.
6 AVATAR J was lapped on American Wiggle when they both contested the much tougher NW11000L5 class on 02/01 and since then he as delivered as a 1-9 favourite at London and again last week when handed a sweet second-over trip. To his credit, Avatar J did cover 5436’ of racetrack according to Trakus. That’s one of the longest trips we’ve seen in months and up to 74’ further than some of the others from that very race if you are to believe the Trakus numbers.
3 OFFICER JONES wound up a fast closing third in the 02/22 race with American Wiggle and Avatar J so obviously there isn’t an awful lot to separate these three picks. Henry got the drive last week when Roy sided with a Moreau pupil. This time Henry turned down Jewels Dragon to get another shot on Officer Jones. An inside post and a short field of seven won’t hurt.
7 BUGSY MALONE last raced at Flamboro on 02/16 and the best he could do there was a fourth, some 6-3/4 lengths behind American Wiggle. At least he did win when last in a conditioned race similar to this on 01/25.

8 TYMAL RIGGS has never raced for a purse and if he’s to win his first start he’ll have to do it from the second worst post position. In picking a newbie to win we’re really saying that we don’t have much confidence in any of the other nine, some of whom have been 20 and 24 starts without a win. In this situation an unproven colt has the most upside potential. Riggs is a son of top Ontario sire Kadabra and he does have a decent maternal family as his second dam is the $816K winner Filly At Bigs. His unraced dam has already produced a good one when bred to Kadabra. We’re referring to this guy’s four-year-old full sister Haveoneforme who won her first for a purse at The Meadowlands in January of 2019 and who wrapped up her three-year-old season with a win in the OSS Super Final.
1 FORGED IN FIRE was picked on top when he contested this class on 02/17 and to his credit he did get off the wings nicely and he did attempt to make a move on the last turn. It didn’t work out nearly as well as when he faced lesser at Flamboro on 02/08. There may have been a legitimate reason for backing away in a 1:58.2 mile so it’s probably too early to jump to any conclusions.
9 VICTOR INVICTUS is in the same boat as our top pick in that he’s untested and stuck on the outside. And he too is a son of Kadabra with some decent siblings. His full brother Ole Jack Magic and half sister Dottie have won $403K and $188K respectively.
5 MALCOLM G has finished second or third in 10 of 20 lifetime starts so it’s probably just a matter of time before he finally puts it all together. Your guess is as good as mine as to when that will be.

9 LUCKY PLAYER will have to be at her best if she’s to overcome an outside post and stretch her win streak to three. Having said that she does have excellent gate speed so the outside post won’t be nearly as much of a problem for her as it would be for many. And she’s clearly in top form after having won three of her last four for two different trainers – Chris Matthews and Jodie Cullen. Tonight trainer Robert Fellows gets a chance to see what he can do with her and he has wisely rehired Trevor Henry.
6 MISS ROCKADALI proved second best when she last faced Lucky Player so it would be a bit of an upset if she were to turn the tables. While that’s not impossible given the post positions they occupy in this rematch, it’s far from an open and shut case. At least Filion makes a great replacement for McNair who was named on E R Rhonda.
7 E R RHONDA is the richest and most experienced of this lot with her $268K bankroll and 53 win photos. But is she the freshest? Absolutely not. She’s had 50 starts in the last 14 months and she has been claimed from 9 of her last 12 races! It will be interesting to see if Shepherd can get her back to winning form now that she’s back for a seventh stint in his barn.
1 HAMMERING HALEY got past Lucky Player in the closing stride of their 02/10 race but that was after a pocket trip and persistent urging on Drury’s part. She wasn’t quite as successful in two subsequent starts, including one in which she left from this same post and led for much of the race before Lucky Player hauled her down.

7 P L JILL wasn’t mentioned in this space when she stepped up to the Preferred level on 02/24 as we figured that an outside post and a class hike might be too much for her. Wrong! She didn’t get it done for those who made her the 5-2 favourite but she definitely gave them their money’s worth and made us look pretty bad for not even giving her a drop of ink. In fact she turned in such a credible performance that we’re going to list her on top in this rematch with most of the same horses. She’ll be tough to beat if she can be rated just a bit differently.
1 ODDS ON AMETHYST can be dangerous when he’s at the right level and there’s some speed to chase. At least that was our comment going into the 02/17 race and it proved to be spot on. So did we have to call in the Brink’s truck? Ah, no, because we turned to the mares Hey Livvy and Royal Witch and had this guy ranked third from the top. We repeated the mistake last week when he was picked for third behind On The Ropes and B Yoyo and again he pulled off a win thanks to excellent rating on Pat Hudon’s part. Should we have learned a lesson by now?
5 ON THE ROPES turned in an okay effort on 01/27 when he finished third to Big Rich and B Yoyo. It wasn’t what his backers were hoping for but it wasn’t a bad effort whatsoever. Those who stuck with him for the 02/03 race were rewarded with $4.90 payoff when he closed into a slowing pace for a handy win. And anyone who attempted a parlay came out of it smiling when he finished in a dead-heat to Win in the 02/10 edition of the Preferred. Unfortunately he wasn’t nearly as good when we jumped on the band wagon for the 02/24 race. He’s still a decent candidate to win, especially from Post 5.

Race 7 Selections THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL by Mike Hamilton
5 U NEED STONES left a favourable impression when he appeared on the local scene for the first time on 02/22 so we’re going to “play again.” He is moving up in class and he’ll have to come up with a much faster last quarter if he’s to beat this bunch so there’s definitely an element of risk. Compounding the issue is the fact that we just don’t know what kind of a price he might offer. It’s your call.
8 ON THE SLY is one that we sided with last week when he switched from conditioned races (with an optional claiming price) to a 15K-20K claiming handicap where he drew outside in a field of seven. He was driven with purpose in that race and didn’t have too much trouble turning back the pocket-sitting A J Destiny and the three-hole riding Esquire as they came down the stretch. This is a tougher assignment, however.
4 WHITE TIGER would be an easy pick if your only source of information was the replay of his 02/08 stretch drive. There’s no denying that he was closing fastest of all and would have won had they raced another 10 feet or so. However, he wasn’t any more successful when closer to the action on 02/17 and in fact he gave up a position in the stretch drive, albeit to a good one in Pikachu Hanover.
2 EXEMPLAR won’t need a map to find the winner’s circle if hes good and tight and knowing trainer Richard Moreau that just might be the case. On a more cautionary note we’ll add that old-timers like Exemplar often take a while longer than younger foes to get back into game shape. This one might be better left for next time when he has worked another $5500 off his last five earnings.

Race 8 Selections THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL by Mike Hamilton
3 TOMY TERROR was a little more productive than he has been in a while when he won his 02/24 race for previous trainer Mark Goddard. Sure, he drifted wide as he came down the stretch, but even finishing up in the five-wide path didn’t stop him from winning his sendoff. He’s one of two Shepherd pupils in this race and it would have been three had the recently claimed Toxicity not been withdrawn at scratch time.
4 CASIMIR OVERDRIVE has been a money making machine for some time now so it’s no wonder that he has been claimed from five straight races. This will be his fifth stint in the Shepherd barn and history says that he’ll be competitive if not a winner. He did win first time off a claim in two of four previous stays with this trainer, including the 01/30 race that now shows up four lines down the page. He could easily be listed on top.
6 E L WILD SPIRIT caught our eye when he angled to the six-wide path and made late gains in the 02/24 race with Tomy Terror and Casimir Overdrive so naturally we’ll consider him in this rematch. The improved post and shorter field should work in his favour but only if there’s some speed to chase. Who knows how a race might unfold when four trainers are sending out six starters?
1 MISTER GODRO is making just his second start for Team Auciello and now he gets an inside post to work with. He was put into play when he had this same post on 02/13 and 02/20 but each time he faltered late in the mile.

5 HEY LIVVY came through in a big way when we had her listed on top on 02/24 and here she’s facing some of the same horses and going for the same purse money so we’ll let it ride. That was just her second start since October and she figured to be a bit better after having won a qualifier in 1:57.1 (last quarter in 27.1) and a closing fifth (last quarter in 27.3) when she raced (arguably) one notch higher on 02/17. We sometimes question the “distance traveled” stats produced by the Trakus system but there’s little doubt that Livvy did go 5471’ as advertised on 02/24. That was a huge mile!
4 PIKACHU HANOVER turned in a respectable effort in his latest but in the end he was third best to Hey Livvy and Memo despite a soft second quarter. I don’t see him waltzing away with this one but more of the same might be possible as he now starts to Hey Livvy’s inside and recent Preferred starter Memo has taken the week off.
7 HOCKEY HANOVER didn’t have to face Hey Livvy or Pikachu Hanover when he raced in a lower level race on 02/24 but he was still in with some very competitive horses, including P L Matt who is now 3-for-3 since joining the Baillargeon camp. Previous results suggest that he’ll be a factor but far from a standout at this level.
2 DUNBAR HALL is one we’ll be watching with interest as he does have a ton of back class and he is on Lasix for the first time. He’s also unraced since November when he made breaks in several races as well as a qualifier before calling for a time out.

1 ROCK THIS WAY screams out for attention now that he has dropped out of the Preferred-2 class at London and into the bottom class offered here at Mohawk. This edition of the NW3100L5 class should be much, much easier for him than any of his recent races where he faced the likes of Regal Son, Mongolian Hero N, Heza Thrill, Julerica, American Virgin and a host of other very competitive horses. When last in something remotely similar to this class, he was sent off as the chalk and driver Scott Young wheeled him around six horses in the back half to win in 1:52.1.
8 WALTER MITTY is eight starts removed from his last win so you’d think that he might have found an easy assignment by now. That wasn’t possible as he still had a second place finish from 01/04 to work off his last five lines. He hasn’t picked up a cheque in five straight races so he might be getting hungry. Beware!
6 COOL ROCK is the class of the race with his 37 wins and $575,562 in earnings over the course of 10 seasons. This would have been his 11th season on the track had he actually raced in 2015 but he took that entire year off. He has found a relatively soft class for his first start under new management and Shepherd’s record of rejuvenating older horses is well documented. We won’t rule out a thing!
2 BETTER MOONON OVER hasn’t done much for those who have made him 6-5, 2-1 and 9-2 in three starts since a September to February layup. We’re not thrilled with is prospects in this race with Rock This Way and Walter Mitty but a piece of the tri or super might be possible.

CONDITIONS AND ALLOWANCES IN HARNESS RACING - IMPORTANT TO KNOW
The conditions of a race determine whether a horse is eligible to enter. For example many races Fillies and mares receive an additional 25% allowance in claiming races.are restricted to horses that have won a certain number of races or a certain amount of money in a Details of the race conditions and claiming price (if any) are given specified number of starts. Many races are restricted to horses entered to be "claimed" (offered for at the top of each race in the program.sale) at a specific price.Allowances in the claiming price itself are given to colts and geldings, four-year-olds and younger ALLOWANCESand to mares, five-year-olds and younger. EXPLANATION OF THE LASIX PROGRAMAfter careful study and consultation with Ontar io Horsemen’s groups, racetrack operators and veterinarians, Agriculture Canada and theAlcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario passed legislation allowing the controlled (or supervised) administration of furosemide, more commonly called“Lasix”. “Lasix” is used to alleviate the symptoms of exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhaging in racing horses.Horses will undergo an endoscopic examination of the trachea by a veterinarian licensed by the Ontario Racing Commission and endorsedby an official veterinarian before being allowed on the medication list. Once qualified, horses will be treated with “Lasix” within four hoursplus or minus 15 minutes of a scheduled race in a secure retention area under the super vision of racing officials. All horses on “Lasix” must remain on the program for a minimum of 100 days while racing in this jurisdiction. L Denotes horses treated with Lasix.

C.P.M.A. Regulation Changes Effective January 1st 2012CPMA will be instituting several new rule changes with regards to the following pari-mutuel pools: Pick Pools• If there are no winners in any leg of a Pick N pool, the entire pool is refunded. • If there is a change of surface in any leg that is NOT made known to the public
prior to wagering for that pool closing, that leg will pay on all runners. • A pool is no longer refunded if the 1st leg in the pool is cancelled or declared no
contest. • Pick-3: If at least 2 legs are declared no contest or cancelled, the pool is refunded. • Pick-4, 5 or 6: If at least 3 legs are declared no contest or cancelled, the pool is
refunded.
Smoking RegulationsThe Government of Ontario is committed to improv-
ing the health of residents through the implementation of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. Recent changes to the Act, which came into effect on January 1, 2015,
further restrict the use of tobacco products in restau-rants and bar patios. Smoking is now prohibited in all areas where food is served or sold or offered for con-sumption or in areas that are operated in conjunction with an area where food and drink is served or sold. The City of Toronto has also enacted restrictions on smoking in public places by requiring that smoking is not permitted within a 9 metre radius of an entrance
or exit to a public building. Please refer to signage posted throughout the facility and the site to determine where smoking is permitted.
THE MORNING LINE reflects the track oddsmaker’sestimate of what each horse’s odds will be at post time. The actual
odds are established by the amounts wagered by the public on each horse in the win pool.

RULES AND INFORMATION REGARDING CANADIAN HARNESSAND FOREIGN SEPARATE POOL EVENTS
GENERAL All pari-mutuel pools are calculated and distributed in accordance with the regulations and directives as issued by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (“the Regulations”), under the approval and supervision of the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency. The Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency can be contacted at 1-800-268-8835 or 613-759-6100 or Email: [email protected]. A complete version of the CPMA regulations can be found at http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-91-365/All tickets should be held until the result of the race is declared official and prices are posted. No person under the age of 18 shall purchase or cash a ticket or voucher. A claim of receiving an incorrect payment or incorrect change must be made to the Mutuel office of the association within twenty four hours of buying or cashing a valid ticket or voucher. No ruling made by the Stewards/Judges or the Ontario Racing Commission with regard to distribution of purse money or the placing of horses in the order of finish, after the race has been declared official, shall have any bearing on the pay-out prices or distribution of pari-mutuel pools. Change boards and Photo Finish display monitors are located in the Grandstand. In addition, Photo Finish pictures are shown on the closed-circuit television system. Customers are reminded that mutuel clerks are responsible for all shortages. When making a wager, customers must present sufficient funds at the time of purchase to cover the wagers requested. ENTRIES AND MUTUEL FIELDS “Entry” means two or more horses in the same race which, for the purpose of pari-mutuel betting, are coupled or considered as the same betting interest. The most common reason for the coupling of horses in an Entry is the fact that they are owned by the same person. “Mutuel Field” means two or more horses in the same race which, for the purpose of pari-mutuel betting, are coupled because the number of horses in the race exceeds the number which can be handled separately by the pari-mutuel system. Subject to the Regulations, a bet on one horse of an Entry or Mutuel Field shall be considered a bet on all horses in that Entry or Mutuel Field. DAILY DOUBLE BETTING (INCLUDING LATE DOUBLE) A Daily Double bet is a betting transaction in which a purchaser of a ticket undertakes to select the official winners of each of the two races specified for the Daily Double. Tickets not selecting the winner of the first half of the Daily Double and all tickets in the second half of the Daily Double not coupled with the declared official winner of the first half of the Daily Double are not winners and are not refunded no matter what circumstances affect the running of the second half of the Daily Double. Should a horse or horses (not coupled with another starter) be excused from starting in the second race of the Daily Double after the first race of the Daily Double has closed for betting, holders of all Daily Double tickets on such horses, coupled with the winner of the first Daily Double race, shall participate in a Consolation Double pool. (Effective Jan 1, 2012 EXACTA (Also known as Exactor)/TRIFECTA (Also known as Triactor)/SUPERFECTA An Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta is a betting transaction in which a purchaser of a ticket undertakes to select the first two, three and four horses respectively, representing different betting interests to finish in the exact official order of finish, in the race on which the pool is operated. The above stated pools on races that have an entry (i.e. 1 & 1A and/or 2 & 2B) will not offer a wager combining both halves of the same betting interest. Example: If the same betting interest finishes first and second in an Exacta wager, the Exacta payout will be on first and third. JACKPOT HI-5 A Jackpot Hi-5 bet is a betting transaction in which a purchaser of a ticket undertakes to select the exact order of finish of the first 5 runners in the specified Jackpot Hi-5 race. If there are races that have an entry, (i.e. 1 & 1A and/or 2 & 2B), Jackpot Hi-5 will not offer a wager consisting of both halves of the same betting interest. Example: If the same betting interest finishes first and second in a Jackpot Hi-5, the payout would be 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th. That jackpot portion of the pool will only be paid out if there is a single winning ticket. If there are multiple winning tickets that have correctly chosen the first 5 runners of the race, they will receive 50% of the pool for that day. The other 50% will go over into the Jackpot carryover. If there are no winning tickets with the exact order of finish of the first 5 runners, 100% of the current day’s pool will be carried over into the Jackpot. PICK 3, PICK 4 AND PICK 5 BETTING The Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 bets are betting transactions in which a purchaser of a ticket undertakes to select the official winners of each of three, four or five successive races specified for the Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5 respectively. Winning tickets for the Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 are determined in the following sequence: A) winners of all legs, B) most winners, then refund. If there is a change of surface in any leg that is NOT made known to the public prior to wagering for that pool closing, that leg will pay on all runners. If there are no winners in any leg of a pool, the entire pool is refunded. PICK 3, PICK 4 & PICK 5 SCRATCHES In the event a Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5 ticket designates as a selection a horse which is scratched, excused or determined by the Stewards/Judges to be a non-starter in any of the races comprising the Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5 the favourite, as evidenced by the amount wagered in the win pool at the time of the start of the race in which the scratch occurred, will be substituted for the non-starting selection. In the event that the money bet in the win pool for two or more favourites is identical, the selection with the lowest program number shall be substituted for the non-starting selection. However, if a scratch occurs in any leg of the Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5 pools before the pool is closed, a ticket including the scratched horse may be cancelled. REFUNDS Subject to the Regulations, all monies in all pools on a race are refunded in the event that the race is cancelled, declared off or declared no contest, and all monies bet on a horse are refunded if the horse is a late scratch or does not receive a fair start. These refunds will be communicated to the public through various means such as betting terminals, video display, changes boards and our website. The Pick(n) pool shall be cancelled and all Pick(n) wagers for the individual performance shall be refunded if:
• Pick-3: at least 2 legs are declared no contest or cancel. (Effective Jan 1, 2012) • Pick-4, 5 or 6: at least 3 legs are declared no contest or cancel. (Effective Jan 1, 2012)
Where a horse that is part of an Entry is a late scratch or does not receive a fair start and at least one horse of that Entry receives a fair start in the race, all tickets purchased on the Entry remain valid and the purchase price of any such ticket shall not be refunded. COMMON POOL WAGERING (INTERTRACK BETTING) In the unlikely event of a communications or computer system failure that prevents pools from merging with the host track’s pools before the end of a race, CPMA regulations require that the site must refund all tickets for that race. This refund will be communicated to the public through various means such as video displays, change boards and messages on our website. FAIR START If a horse has reached the Fair Start Pole (located 200 feet before the Starting Pole) by the time the mobile gate has reached the Starting Pole, that horse is deemed to have had a fair start. It makes no difference whether or not the horse is on or off stride at that precise moment. Under current policy and regulations, which are designed to be as fair as possible to all bettors on all starters, there is no Recall - a repeat of the entire starting procedure - when a horse does not reach the Fair Start Pole before the gate reaches the Starting Pole. Monies bet on such a horse are refunded in accordance with the regulation concerning refunds. LOST & OLD TICKETS WEG issued tickets or vouchers are valid indefinitely, however, they cannot be cashed at a mutuel teller after 2 years from date of issue. Please mail tickets, along with your name and address, to Mutuel Manager, P.O. Box 156, Rexdale, Ontario, M9W 5L2, keeping a photocopy for future reference. For “Lost Tickets” originally sold at a Woodbine Entertainment Group racetrack or Teletheatre, please enquire at the Mutuel office at Woodbine, Greenwood Teletheatre, or Mohawk. Policy may be subject to change retroactively in the event regulatory bodies amend existing regulations. ASSOCIATION PERCENTAGE, AND TAXATION/LEVY The Woodbine Entertainment Group deducts and retains the following percentages from wagers placed at our own licensed sites which are then shared with the horsepeople, host and simulcast associations and the Ontario Racing Commission. WOODBINE\MOHAWK LIVE: Win, Place & Show: 13.65%. Trifecta & Pick 4: 21.7%. Double & Exacta 17.2%. Jackpot Hi-5 & Pick 5: 11.7%. All other 23.0%
Horsepeople receive a further 2% on all wagers, except Trifecta wagering where it is 4%. The Ontario Provincial Government retains 0.5% on all bets placed in Ontario. The Canadian Government (through a revolving fund cost recovery basis) retains 0.8% on all wagers placed in Canada for provision of drug control, and audit services.
While every effort is made to provide accurate information in the program, Woodbine Entertainment Group assumes no liability for errors or omissions.
