Comments• Registration: Friendly and well organised welcome.• Introduction: Good start to the day and informed us of what to expect during the course.• Sharmila was very enthusiastic and keen for us to give responses and get involved.• Radiology: Interesting presentation and tour. Very well explained. Staff very helpful and friendly.• Anaesthetics: Good answers to questions, they genuinely love their job. Mannequin models were amazing.• Dialysis: The initial oral presentation was friendly and full of content, speaking to the patients and asking questions

enabled us to gain a great insight. Really informative, lovely staff. Lots of information yet remained interesting.• Paediatrics: Really enjoyed comprehensive visit to the ward and found it very informative. • Endoscopy: Very nice nurse, knowledgeable – concise content. I feel as though I learnt a lot in the brief endoscopy visit

about polyps, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and sphincters (muscular ring at the top of the oesophagus)• Resus/CPR: Loved learning CPR and recovery position. Good demonstration and practical. Learnt a lot of practical skills

which can be applied to real life situations. Very good useful life skills.• Life as a Junior Doctor with Dr James Morgan: Very honest and gave some good ideas about ensuring we have back

up options etc. James spoke clearly. I felt he covered a lot and it was interesting to hear how he used an alternative route to study the degree.

• Ethics Symposium Talk with Dr Andrew Short: Philosophical, intriguing. Enjoyable, participating was interesting and fun.

• A&E: Doctors were excellent, so inspiring. This has really confirmed my passion to be a doctor if I can end up like them! Dr Chris Turner - Very Inspirational! Incredibly engaging talk. Very good. My favourite visit so far, Chris Turner was a really good person to talk to, the lady that taught us to put the plaster on was also really fun.

• Anatomy: Highly interesting and very different. It was a great opportunity to be able to see the plastinated bodies. Best part of the course. Extremely interesting, best session yet, made it a lot easier to understand exactly what organs/bones/muscles look like, how they are connected and work. My favourite part of the course. Students were friendly and knowledgeable.

Comments cont...• Interview Practice: Students were experienced and helpful, answered any queries, great interview tips. The most useful part of the

course. Talking to a medical student was invaluable. Extremely helpful.• Heather Stirling, Paediatrics Talk: Gave a clear run through what the paediatrics would include, was very interesting and informative.

Very thorough and well thought out presentation.• Dr Amy Chue, Microbiology: In depth knowledge, interesting to learn about other and more unusual medical specialities/medicine

abroad. She was amazing. It was interesting to hear how their side of medicine mixed academics with patient care. • Dr Sharmili Sothi, Oncology: Very interesting to hear about how to balance work and family life. It was fascinating to hear more in-

depth knowledge as to how radiotherapy is so effective. An inspirational presentation, very interesting job.• Ethics Workshop: Working with current junior doctors was invaluable and the topics covered were thought provoking. I was made to

think through the points of an argument to which I didn’t agree which helped me to have a more open mind. Fun. Nice teamwork activities.• Surgical Session: Inspirational people with very interesting jobs. Fantastic. I could not fault any of them. Great insight into surgery and

the various specialties within surgery.• Ethics Feedback: Very interesting points brought up. Again, thought provoking and intriguing presentation, useful Q&A at the end.• Dr Ayman Zaghloul: Very good, interesting and valuable

• Mr Chris Harmston – Enjoyable and informative with friendly people. Nice to see they still had a good full university experience. Mention of finances appreciated. Interesting to hear about the lives of postgraduate junior doctors.

• Matthew Patterill, Work Experience & Anaesthetics – Helpful to see it can be a ‘family’ career too. Very informative. Learnt more options for family friendly specialities. Great opportunity.

• Sharmila Sothi, Oncology – Great personality and I was very grateful for the speech. Amazing information given, enjoyed it very much. Dr Sothi covered a painful subject in a sensitive way. Her presentation was brilliant. She had a great influence on me.

• General – Awesome. Very privileged to have this experience. Wonderful and extremely helpful. Excellent 3 days. THANK YOU!
