Pedro Carneiro is one of the very fewpercussion players to have made aninternational career as a soloist, andhas established himself as one of theworld's foremost solo percussionists,performing regularly throughout Europe,the Far East and the USA. The Norway-based composer NatashaBarrett comes to this year’s Festival to performworks by a selection of international composers.Among the pieces heard will be her owncompositions, including the premiere ofthe Sonorities commission Abemolpas.

Her compositional output consists of worksfor instruments and live electronics, soundinstallations, dance, theatre and animationprojects, but all activity is rooted in her workwith acousmatic tape composition, whichfeatures most strongly amongst her creations.

Her work has received many awards,including the first prize at Musica Nova(Prague, Czech Republic, 2001), Noroit-Léonce Petitot (Arras, France, 1998),first prize (1998) and a mention (1995)in the Trivium section of the BourgesInternational Electroacoustic MusicCompetition (France), Concurso Internacionalde Música Eletroacústica de São Paulo(IV CIMESP, Brazil, 2001), Concours
