Objective: SWBAT describe the Battle of Britain by taking notes on the reading and pictures

Japan• July 1940, Japan announced a plan for the future of Asia

called the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.—Japanese empire.

• September 27th, 1940, Japan makes an alliance with Germany and Italy.– The Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis = Axis Powers– U.S responds with economic pressure.

• An embargo which includes aviation fuel, all metals, chemicals, machine parts, and other products with military uses.

– Japan seizes control of the rest of Indochina by July of 1941.• Roosevelt freezes all Japanese assets in the U.S. and ends trade with

Japan.• But we continue to negotiate with Japan.
