A great day was had by the students and they all learnt a great deal. Pictured below are the Parkes East Future Moves “Graduates”. I know families will be deeply saddened by the news that ex-Parkes East 1/2K student Darcy Apps died early last week. Darcy had only recently moved with his family to Queensland. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Talent Quest
Last Wednesday and Thursday Stage 1 had their Talent Quest Heats. By all reports the acts were of a high standard which made judging of both the heats quite challenging.
The winning acts will now perform at the final which will be held at the Parkes High School Hall on Tuesday, 26 November. Performers will receive a special note informing them of the date of the final.
The winners from Stage 1 were: Lachlan Porter, Darcy Dawson, Charlie Dawson, Anthony Dickson, Lachlan Plummer, Jeramiah Alexander, Elly Thornberry, Nalani Barber, Matilda Hargrave (2), Junhyuk Bok, Ciana Larsen, Mary Sladden, Jackson Plummer, Lochlan Dunn, Braith Murray, Thomas Burkitt, Gabin Kim (2), Danilo Bottaro-Porter, Deegan Ingram, Marnus Barnard, Chris Nielsen, Vincent Long, Gayeon Kim, Madison Chatman and Daisy Dawson.
Stage 3 will be having their heats for the Talent Quest this week. The heats will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. All performers from Stage 3 should be practising their acts and finalising their outfits. Stage 3 will receive their notes today informing them of the time of their heat.
Thank you to all the children who took the time to enter the 2013 Talent Quest.

WOW Day—Wear Orange Wednesday
Thank you to everyone who supported WOW Day by wearing the colour orange to school. Our school raised $182. A cheque was presented to Miss Lawford at last Friday’s assembly. For those people who don’t know, Miss Lawford is an active member of the Parkes SES and our school community is very proud of the job she does for this valuable organisation. SES will be donating this money to the Salvation Army.

McDONALDS/MAGILL TENNIS CUP
Last Friday, our school was represented at the McDonalds/Magill Cup Tennis tournament against children from Parkes Public, Middleton and Holy Family Schools.
The girls’ team consisted of Kayla Swetland, Bronte O’Shannessy, Makayla Strudwick and Ella Bayliss-Cox. Jake Magill, Ben Evans, Harry Dawson and Tynan Matthews made up the boys’ team.
Parkes East came second to Parkes Public which was a great achievement. All players were great
representatives of our school and played some terrific tennis throughout the day.
