Complex Sentences

These are formed when you join a main clause and a subordinate clause together.

Main clause – has a subject and a verb and makes sense on its own.

Subordinate clause – does not make sense on its own.

For many years now, X Factor has been my favourite television programme. I love all the cheeky judges! This weekend, the judges did not disappoint and created lots of drama. Mel B laughed when she knew her contestant had sung the best. Simon, looking bored, told Overload to go home. Because she was so nervous, Cheryl nearly tripped in her high heels, much to the delight of Louis! My favourite this year is Andrea. I can’t wait to watch him again next week!
