Intergroup District 17 Office Manager’s Report June 26, 2016
Last month it was voted that the date of the Intergroup Representative meeting change to the last Sunday of the month. The
announcement was changed on the front page of the When and Where, in The Voice, and a flyer is available.
The Secretary position of the Steering Committee has been vacant for a few months. Please announce this at your group’s
meetings.
We are in search of an editor for The Voice. One year of sobriety is required along with a working knowledge of the 12 Steps
and 12 Traditions. I will publish the July issue due to the many important announcements, such as The Party by the Lake,
etc....It will go to print on Thursday, June 30th and copies will be available at the District 17 meeting. In last month’s issue I
included our Treasurer’s report. I believe the more transparent we become with our finances the groups will now see exactly
how important their contributions and purchases to Intergroup.
There are flyers on the bulletin board. You are welcome to take them. I can make copies if need be. The June issue of The
Voice is on the front desk, too.
Francine H. came to the office on Friday, May 27th and volunteered to be the Chairperson for the Party by the Lake on Satur-
day, July 23 at Carney Island. I am so grateful someone volunteered. The park pavilions have been reserved and paid in full.
The tickets are printed and in circulation for sale by AA members in the district. She has had a few planning committee meet-
ings and needs help in many areas of the event. The next meeting will take place at Starbucks on the downtown square of Oca-
la, 7:00pm,Tuesday, July 5th. Her phone number is (352) 390-7163. Please call her to volunteer ASAP. A service project has to
be done before the event so we can forego the admission fee into the park. It is usually a clean-up job for a couple of hours at a
designated location by the Marion County Parks and Recreation. Approximately 10 people are needed for this job.
An archives display case was purchased by District 17 and is located behind the front desk. Brenda Mc., Archives Chairperson,
and Rick D., District 17 DCM, will soon be stocking it with books, flyers, coins, etc…. The Archives room is small but holds
much of the history of AA in Ocala. On Saturday, July 9th from 10:00-11:00am at the North Florida Area Conference, Wyndham
Garden Gainesville, 2900 SW 13th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608 (352) 377-4000 Rick D. and Wayne C. will be speaking at the
Archives workshop on the history of AA in Ocala. The cost is free. Come show your support for them and AA in Ocala.
The fiscal year ended on May 31, 2015. You will notice this in the contribution list of The Voice.
Thank you for attending today and supporting YOUR Intergroup office.
