Definition Of Indeterminate Structure
A structure of any type is classified as statically indeterminate when the number of unknown reaction or internal forces exceeds the number of equilibrium equations available for its analysis. Most of structures are statically indeterminate
For example, reinforced concrete buildings are almost always statically indeterminate.

Moment Coefficient Method
The ACI Code provides tables of moment coefficient
for a variety of conditions. These coefficients are based on elastic analysis but also account for inelastic redistribution.
The expressions for moment take the form of coefficient multiplied by total factored load per unit length on the span & the length of the clear span.

History Of Moment Coefficient Method
The Moment Coefficient Method included for the first time in 1963 ACI Code is applicable to two-way slabs supported on four sides of each slab panel by walls, steel beams.
Although, not included in 1977 and later versions of ACI code, its continued use is permissible under the ACI 318-08 code provision (13.5.1). Visit ACI 13.5.1.relatively deep, stiff, edge beams.

Advantage
The coefficients give more exact analysis. Significant economy can be achieved by making a
more precise analysis. There should be no reversal of moments at the
critical design sections near midspan or at the support faces.
