It is challenging to meet the diverse needs of our students. If your child needs more than the assigned work, please contact your child’s teacher.
Please direct specific questions about assigned work to your child’s teacher. Internet Accessibility and Technology Devices
We acknowledge that many of our families do not have internet or technology such as computers or tablets.
Please see the flyer included that gives information about cell phone providers extending data services. Mohawk Valley has applied for 40 hot spots for family use but have not been granted those devices yet.
We are checking out student computers in some situations. If you would like to check out a student computer for your child’s use, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher.
Student Personal Belongings from Classroom
Teachers are gathering your child’s personal belongings. They will be available with the work packet distribution on April 7th.
Promotion to the Next Grade Level
At this time, it appears that all students will be promoted to the next grade level unless previously agreed they will be retained in the current year.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that your child attempt assignments and/or work packets. Mohawk Valley School continues to be held responsible for your child’s education.
Mohawk Valley teachers are working very hard to provide educational opportunities to our students and differentiate wherever possible for all children to feel success.
If your child will be leaving the area please contact the school office or your child’s teacher so we can note that they have left.
Grades and Report Cards
Mohawk Valley will not issue fourth quarter report cards.
However, teachers will continue to log and track student participation and completion of work.
Mohawk Valley promotes learning, growth, and doing our personal best. It is our deepest desire that our students learn for the sake of learning.
AZ Merit Testing
All state testing has been cancelled for this school year. At this time we do not know what the long-term plan is for school accountability.

8th Grade Promotion and Trip
The 8th grade promotion and trip are cancelled.
8th grade sponsors are working on a potential plan to celebrate our 8th graders sometime this summer once the stay at home measures lighten and we feel safe to do so.
8th grade families be looking for information from the sponsors on specifics. Kindergarten Registration and Potential Preschool Students
For the time being, please call or email the school office if you have a child ready for kindergarten or preschool and we will add them to our list. We will formally register students at a later date.
We need to know how many students will be in kindergarten and potential preschoolers so we can plan and budget.
Once the stay at home measures lift, we will contact you to come into the office and register.
Current Family Contact Information
Please make sure the school office has your current phone number and email. We have noticed that families are providing teachers with different emails than we have on file.
Census
Please complete your Census that began April 1st. This information is VERY important schools to collect information for various purposes such as federal grant funding.
We fully acknowledge the frustrations with the current situation. Instructing your child on top of working and providing for your family is no easy task. We are taking many steps to make learning successful for our students while they cannot be at school. We dearly miss our students!
