Destination Drive (Due with Mod 5 or 6)

Assignment: You will plan an imaginary trip for 400 or more miles (200 in each direction). Before you begin, you need to decide the following:

Where you are goingWhat car you will be driving (pick the car you

will most likely be driving)Mileage that car getsCost of gasoline = $3.91Total miles you will drive

Written Assignment Write up a description of your trip, including all the money

you think you will spend. Within that description, you should include the following:

Route you will take Any stops you might make Where you will stay and what that will cost Cost of meals Cost of any other activities on that trip Emergency “OOPS” money Route map print out (mapquest, googlemaps, etc)

At the end of the assignment, you are required to total up the overall costs of your trip. Remember this is an imaginary trip. You DO NOT need to actually drive this or spend this money.

Example

I will be traveling to Wenatchee. I will start out with my gas tank full. I will leave at noon on Friday. I will take HWY 16 to Tacoma where I will get on I5 north to HWY 18. I will follow this route until I come to I90 east.

I will stop in North Bend to shop for a while. I have budgeted $100 for shopping.

I will be in Wenatchee by dinner at my parents (no cost). I will be meeting up with my high school friend Charlotte. We will go to a movie and drinks after. This will cost $25.

On Saturday, I will go golfing with my parents. This will cost $40.

I will fill up my tank before I head home on Sunday. That will cost roughly $45.
