Introduction

Technology has become an integral, ever-increasing, and changing part of our lives. A report to the 78th Legislature from the TEA (Texas Education Agency) presented back in December 2002, states the developments in technology and public school.

According to Public Law 103-382 Sec 3113 that states: “(11) the term ‘technology’ means state-of-the-art technology products and services, such as as closed circuit television systems, educational television, and radio programs and services, cable television, satellite, copper and fiber optic transmission, computer optic transmission, computer hardware and software, video and audio laser and CD-ROM discs, and video and audio tapes.”

Vision Statement

My school should be committed and dedicated in providing the BEST quality and EFFECTIVE education by empowering ALL STUDENTS become LIFE-LONG LEARNERS.

Mission Statement

Our staff (teachers, personnel, para-professionals, mentors, tutors, counselors, administration, etc) will provide the opportunity for every student awareness and success by targeting goals and objectives that will enable students to take personal responsibility in a global community with the usage of technology.

Technology and students

Expand their knowledge base;

Improve their critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills;

Access, gather, analyze, and synthesis information in expedient, and creative formats;

Work independently, and collaboratively with a diverse and changing population and increase learning and productively by having access to one computer for every three students.

Improve instructional strategies to increase student achievement and narrow the gap between high and low achievers regardless of their ethnicity, socioeconomics status, learning style or abilities;

Provide immediate and east access to information sources for instructional and administrative decision making; and

Provide, solicit, and secure adequate funding for technology maintenance, support, training, and equipment to fulfill the needs of school and most importantly our students.

“School-For S’s it is very limited bcuz of terminals. All they can use is software already stored already or on internet. They use Smartboard but no matter how many times I realign it it’s difficult to use and often does not work.” 4th Grade Teacher
