Model United Nations
Founded in 1945 to replace the League of Nations
Original intent was to prevent wars between countries and to create a platform for dialogue
Currently works to facilitate cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and the achievement of world peace
What is the UN?
An academic simulation of the United Nations
Educates participates about civics, current events, and diplomacy
Students form teams, are assigned to research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, and develop solutions to world problems
What is the MUN?
Before the conference starts:1. You get assigned a country2. Do research 3. Write a position paper
