Center Center is the normal position of the switch. The center position will allow an automatic regeneration to occur. Stop When STOP is pressed the system will not regenerate under any conditions. Do not leave the switch in the Stop position unless you need to cancel or stop regeneration. Note: This information is for reference only. Three Position Regeneration Switch

StartDepressing the button in the STARTdirection for 4 seconds will initiate aparked regerneration.

(Y53-6005) INCLUDED WITH YOUR VEHICLE FOR A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT.

High Exhaust System Temperature – HESTWarns the driver when exhaust temperatureis elevated.

Diesel Particulate Filter – DPFIndicates when the DPF requires regeneration.

Check EngineIndicates exhaust system operating conditions thatwill cause engine de-rate.

Stop EngineIndicates exhaust system operating conditions thatwill force engine shut-down.

1st Level Warning

2nd Level Warning

3rd Level Warning

4th Level Warning

DPF lamp is on steady. The DPF is becoming clogged with soot and needsregeneration. If the warning is ignored the DPF willbecome increasingly clogged.*

DPF lamp flashes once every second. The DPF is becoming increasingly clogged withsoot, and requires regenerating soon. If the warningis ignored the DPF will become increasingly cloggedand could result in an engine de-rate.*

DPF lamp flashes.

Check Engine Warning lamp is on.

The engine de-rates power, because the DPF isclogged with soot. The DPF requires immediateregeneration. If the warning is ignored the vehiclewill soon begin an engine shutdown.*

Caterpillar EngineDPF lamp flashes.

Check Engine Warning lamp is on.

Stop Engine lamp is on.

Cummins EngineStop Engine lamp is on.The DPF and Check Engine warning lamps willturn OFF.

Regeneration cannot be performed, and the engineECU will begin a shutdown sequence.

When the engine begins to shutdown, you CANNOTinitiate regeneration. Refer to the EngineManufacturer’s Operation and Maintenance Manualfor further instructions.

Dealership Service will be required.
