The modal verbs in English are : will, would, shall, should, can, could, may,

might, must, ought to

All modal verbs form negative sentences with “not”

I cannot play the guitar

We must not do it

She may not come tonight

All modal verbs form interrogative sentences with inversion

Should we buy him flowers?

May I help you, sir?

Will you stay for dinner?

Modal verbs are not used in continuous tenses

canning, mighting, maying, musting, woulding, oughting, shoulding, shalling are not correct expressions because modal verbs don’t get ‘-ing’ form

You cannot use ‘to’ after modal verbs
