class, and even made new ones! I could never ask for better teachers. They make life eas-ier.

I wasn’t that scared about mid-dle school. I was a little nervous about all the changes, having mean teach-ers (even though I love them), and

having none of my friends in my classes. But luckily, none of that hap-pened. Middle school has been a little bit like ele-mentary school, but lunch is so much different. They call us table by table, and not class by class. I think I like middle school bet-ter than elementary school.

grader, won first place with her rendi-tion of “Shake it Off.” She gave an en-core performance during this year’s first Town Meeting. Mr. Frederick and Mrs. Melnik took first place in the teacher competition registering a whop-ping 98 decibels. Mr. Alexander, had his own opinion on his favorite act. “I have two words--American Oxygen” in reference to Aus-tin Dery’s perform-ance. Ms. O’Neill added, “It was the scariest and most exciting moment of my life. I can only hope I did Beyonce proud...and Kudos to my back-up dancers.”

NJHS put together the Lip Sync Battle to raise money for the Meriden Soup Kitchen. They raised $1,000 for the holi-days. Mr. T said, “I can’t believe the turnout for a new event at our school. Hopefully there will be another in the spring.” *Wink*

This year's boys’ soccer team fin-ished strong! They practiced hard and worked on ball skills to beat their opponents. A lot of the players re-turned from last year, but there is some new talent too. Mr. Manware is the soccer team coach. There is 22 players on the boys soccer team. Mr. Manware said he wants “to show them how to play the game right, with hard work and as a team.” The boys did well to listen to Mr. Manware’s words of encouragement, es-pecially the 8th graders moving on.

The Lincoln girls’ soccer team set a milestone this year-they scored their first goal in a year. The girls tried their best to take down their opponents. playing their games. Mr. Wall worked hard to get the girls “going and playing well as a unified team.” They had a great season. Even though it is not re-flected in the win-loss column, the girls came together to play great team soccer. Playing to-gether will only help more! We can’t wait to see more of the girls next year.
