This guide is to provide all "Climax U.C." players information about the game. I'll add more later.
=========================================2. Series UC2~ =========================================The series that play a role in this game are as follows:
Mobile Suit GundamMobile Suit Gundam: The 08th M.S. TeamMobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the PocketMobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust MemoryMobile Suit Z GundamMobile Suit Gundam ZZMobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counter AttackMobile Suit Gundam F91
{ D-Pad }[Up] : Move the unit forward[Right] : Move the unit to the right[Down] : Make the unit turn around and move backwards[Left] : Move the unit to the left
{ Left stick }Directional : similar to the directional crossL3 : no function
{ Right stick }Directional : switches target randomly (...)R3 : no function
Select : hide/display radarStart : pause menu
Triangle : use melee weaponCircle : use Pilot skill / MS skillCross : boostSquare : use ranged weapon(s)
R1 : use secondary ("sub") weapon / change funnel attack modeR2 : boost / jump boost (on ground)L1 : switches target randomlyL2 : disable/enable auto lock
Charging Weapons:
When pressing Triangle for a few seconds, you gradually fill up a gauge. Ifyou release Triangle when the gauge is charging, it will result in a boost +melee attack towards the target. If you release Triangle when the gauge iscompletely filled, it will result in a greater boost + special melee attack(most of the time with an area of effect) towards the target.
When pressing Square for a few secondes, you gradually fill up a gauge. Ifyou keep pressing Square after the (blue) gauge has filled, it will result inanother gauge filling up, a yellow one. This means that you'll be using theWeapon 2 (different from the sub weapon) of the Mobile Suit when you releaseSquare. If you keep pressing Square after the (yellow) gauche has filled, itwill result in a third gauge filling up, an orange one. This is the lastgauge and it means that you will be using the Weapon 3 of the Mobile Suitwhen you release Square. This is the only way to switch weapons on a MobileSuit. Note : the more a gauge is filled, the longest and powerful the attackwill be. The best timing is when the gauche is flashing (right before itchanges color and starts to fill up again). Depending on the weapon, it willalso use a Multi-Target attack (refer to the "M" on the Mobile Suit's weaponlist on the MS selection screen).

Note: Den'an Zon's and the Bergas' both have the skill in Japanese "ransaa"or maybe it is Lancer in the MS Skill and Pilot Skill selection. However, when selecting MS's, the information to the right states that it's "Thrust"for Den'an Zon and "Combination" for the Bergas'. Just beware of that.

=========================================5. How to Obtain UC5~ =========================================
You can unlock mobile suits from any mode, as long as you perform bonusesby using charge 2 and/or charge 3 weapons to chain kill multiple enemies. When you do so (the minimum is 3 units), you'll hear a sound effect and theamount killed will appear on the upper left corner of your screen. Then youwill see the "Get Cards" above the boost bar.
In Chronicle Mode, you have to play through the timeline but not in anyparticular order, as follows:
*Needs unlocking. To unlock, just beat the character who's on top of the *ed.(Eg. I beat Amuro Ray in 0079, I can Char Aznable of 0079.)**Needs unlocking. To unlock, beat all characters in Chronicle.
This mode is basically controlling a non-hero character and going throughthe stages of the timeline as a soldier. You gain stats and ranks as you gothrough the game. The timeline starts in 0079 all the way to 0133.
First, your character. You have to start out with this guy named KamnaTachibana. You can pick three personalities: (each with a different strength and weakness)
EFSF - Earth Federation Space Forces ZEON - Principality of Zeon
After, you get a short briefing and choosing MS's before the battle starts.
Here's a short note about choosing MS's. I have just confirmed it on the03/11/06. With contribution from GameFAQs user, "TeefyTeef", I can confirm thatthe "WEAKER" MS you choose, the "MORE" stats you gain at the end of a stage.
Now, expanding on the fixed points. I said: "the weaker MS you use, the more stats you gain..." and stats meaning the fixed points that add to yourtotal stats randomly.
- If you choose a WEAK to weakEST, meaning GMs then your fixed points will range from 2-3+ depending on what personality you choose. Some will be higher than others and some will not even increase.
- If you choose a NORMAL level MS, pertaining to the era like a Hi-Zack in Z Gundam, you will range from 1-2 points.
- If you choose a POWERFUL MS, or hero units such as the Gundams or any unit with 35 or more average stats then you will get from 0-1, rarely 2 I think.
Contributed by GameFAQs user: ArekkuSaki.
(When you look at any MS during MS selection, you see orange coloured statsnext to the normal stats. Those are the points you will get after every stage. For example: a GM has stats +2, +3, +3, +0, +2, +3 (using the order from theabove tables) and Crossbone Gundam X-1 has +0, +1, +x, +x, +x, +x. The diff-erence is that the stronger the Mobile Suit, the fewer stats gained per level.)
As far as ranking and free points go, it all reflect on how well you do inyour battles.
(Note: Getting high ranks does not guarantee you the points that go with theranks. It also depends on how many combo bonuses you have gotten during a stage.Eg. no combo at all but S, gets you around 55. But many combos with an A gets you 60-65~. So it is very much depends on your effort.)
- S gives you 50-75
- A gives you
- B gives you 55
- C
- D
- E
You can use the free points for 5 passive skills and one active skill. Foreach skill you buy, they will turn from grey to orange. You can always re-select them if you want another skill for another level. But when you have finished all the missions, you cannot go back to change!
...
Until you finish 0093, your character retires and can marry one of threepeople: (each with different growth pattern)
Name Position Major Stats Minor Stats ============================================================= Nagisa Florin Childhood Friend (????) [????] Ellen Rochefil Operator (MW, Arm) [CP,NT] Shirley Ramsey Pilot (Melee, Mob) [CP,NT]
Major is what you will advance over the minor stats. You can choose whoeveryou want for whatever stat you want to major in. Also, the childhood friendis possibly better than the other two.
(IMPORTANT: this stat boost is only one time, right when it asks you if the stats are okay or not. The stat boosts later on are all dependant on what MS you choose.)
(Note: When you reach this point, you're either on:
- EFSF or - Crossbone Vanguard
There will be 2 to 3 stages in this timeline (01?? to 0133 UC): Two for the Series of F91 and one for the Manga Crossbone Gundam. But you have to be of rank Major and above before the end of F91, or you will not be able to reach the last mission.)
Once you finish all the stages in Progess Mode, you will be displayed a listof history that your character went through, as well as ranking. After that, you will not be able to play your character in Progress Mode again, but you canuse him/her to play in other modes as an "Edited Pilot".
(There are 12 Edited Pilots available for play.)

- The crappier the MS you use, the better stat gain you get. I went through 9stages piloting nothing but a GM (Couldn't take on the many many F91s on thetenth stage though...) and ended up with a 50 Shooting - 30 Melee- 42 Defence- 46 Mobility - 50 SP - 50 NT Pilot (I started with Gentle btw), where aswith using high end mechs, I get a pilot with stats hovering around mid 30s.
- MS for your next go around. Whatever MS you used for your current run inProgress mode, you can use the next one, regardless of which side you're on.As for unlocking MS for Progess mode, it's still a mystery to me, though Ithink that if you unlock the MS from Chronicle or EXtra mode, you'd get touse it in Progress.
- Skill unlocking. You'd notice that there are quite a few Emptys on yourPassive and Active skill list for Progress mode. The way to unlock theseskills is to pilot certain MSs for one Progress mode stage. However, what-ever skill you unlock for that one run remains with that one run, so if youhave a skill you want for all your pilots that needs unlocking, you'd needuse the particular MS for all of your pilots.
Ex. If you want Haman's or Four's active skill (The one where you cause whom-ever you are locked to to be a unable move. Really sick/broken on a Psycho since you can use the skill and just simply blast them to hell with Psycho'slv 3 charge), you need to pilot either Nu, Sazabi or Quebery (the white one)for one stage.
- As for as I know when it comes to breeding, going with the childhood friendcan give the best stat gain. Mainly because it's random and I have gottenmore than +6 total, which is what you get from the other two girls.

In progress mode during your level up/experience points actions after youcomplete each mission to level your character the order of boxes goes assuch:
To increase your characters level you can use your experience points gainedin the mission and/or the added extra levels given by the appropriate mobilesuit.
When you are choosing your mobile suit if your hit the square button youwill see the figure desplayed has tiny red/orange(color is hard to tell) +#markings such as:
This indicates that once you've completed the mission that the red/orange numbers will be added to the appropriate skills that were established such asabove(2 level bonus to your armor and 5 level bonus to your main weapon)

------------ Double Card ------------
The amount of "Double Card" you have will affect your progress mode pilotsstarting stats. (Double cards are the cards you've found more than once, it's the number on the last row when you look at the card collection screen)
For example, if you have 7000 double cards, the pilot's starting stat willbe at least 10 for all except for CP and NT (which will be 5).
--------- Marriage ---------
For the marriage, the bonus depends on 2 things: Your rank on each mission, and the number of cards you acquired in each mission. I don't remember whichis which... (The former affects one girl, the latter affects another. Randomgirl is different.)
--- AP ---
The number of cards you get in each mission will affect the AP you get for that mission. This is why sometimes you can get 70 with just an A rank. Themax AP awarded for cards are 20 AP (Around 10~15 cards). As you know, it takes more and more AP to get +1 stats when your stats arehigh.
For the normal stats:
0-11 = 3 12-21 = 4 22-31 = 5 32+ = 6
For the stats your pilot is good at (depending on the personality)
0-16 = 3 17-26 = 4 <- might be off by a bit 27-36 = 5 <- might be off by a bit 37+ = 6
However, the bonus you get from piloting a MS (ie, GM) doesn't change, andthe point requires to learn skills doesn't change. It will be wise to bumpyour AP to stats first, and hold off on the skills for later.
(And if you do that, you will want your pilot to have over 40ish and no skillat stage 7... when you pass it to the next gen. Then in the last stage youcould use the AP to learn skills, and pilot GM to max all stats. It getsdifficult when you want to get specific skill because you will have to pilotsome non-GM ms for some stages.)
