Mobile SCUD Instructions
The Mobile SCUD can be adapted to suit any spraying situation from a small boom spray to
the largest self propelled machine.
It can induct granules, mix granules and measure liquid chemical from 1000ltr shuttles, Envi-
rodrums or 20 ltr drums.
There are a few different ways to set up and use the mobile SCUD. The first decision is to
work out what sort of system you require. Do you use a lot of granules? Do you mainly trans-
fer liquid? Do you need to mix granules? The answer to these questions will determine the
best way to set up your filling system. Some initial set up time will save a lot of time when it
counts.
There are some diagrams on the opposite page to help you select your set-up.
The first set up is the 3-way ball valve outlet set up inline. This set up is good for bulk gran-
ule induction and allows closed circuit mixing for hard to mix granules and powders. Is excel-
lent for bulk liquid transfer and allows for simple boom spray hook up. It is a good system for
multi farm fill points.
The second diagram shows the standard outlet set up to a pump with a three way ball valve on
the pump. This system is similar to the first but is better suited to a single fill point or a nurse
cart or truck set-up.
The bottom diagram shows a venturi set up. The Venturi set up however, does need to be fed
with a pump that can deliver enough pressure to make the venturi work. This system allows
bulk granules to be inducted dry and is also good for transferring liquids.
There are other ways to set-up the Mobile SCUD but these three basic systems are a good
place to start for finding the ideal system set-up. If your SCUD mixer came with a single ball
valve outlet you can easily change it to a 3-way outlet or Venturi.
