Active Reach is defined as the total number of
unique audience that have visited the entity among
the active mobile internet and application universe.
In this calculation, the ”active mobile internet &
application universe” means the sample of panelists
that have a log uploaded in the reporting period.
BRANDTEXT VALUE
Brand provides the Brand-level information for each
Channel in an ‘All Channels’ ranking report.
CATEGORYTEXT VALUE
Category is the first level of categorization based
on the content type. Subcategory is the second
level. All Brands and Channels receive a Category.
No other entity types are eligible. The type of website;
for example, “Directories and Local Guides.”

Composition Index by Unique Audience is the
percentage of a website’s Unique Audience from
a specific target, indexed against the percentage
of that specific target audience represented in the
Active Universe for that time period. For example,
if a website’s index is 110 for Female, it means
that a visitor to that website is 10% more likely to
be Female than the average online user.

Composition Index by Page Views is the percentage
of a website’s Page Views from a specific target,
indexed against the percentage of that specific
target viewed across all Page Views for that time
period. For example, if a website’s Page View Index
is 150 for Male, it means the average page view for
that website is 50% more likely to be viewed by a
Male than the average page viewed online.

Coverage (%) is the percentage of unique persons
falling within the specific target audience that
visited a particular website during the time period.
A percentage of 4.5 for Female would mean that
4.5% of all Active Online females visited the website
within the time period.
LEVELTEXT VALUE
Traffic is aggregated into various levels based on
a combination of Client definitions, URL patterns,
and application executable (.exe) files. Parent/
Brand/Channel represents the MarketView three-
tiered hierarchy. It is non-duplicative which means
a page can only be credited to one level. It is
based on the URL owner (Parent) and it is based
on either the branding or ad sales packaging
for the defined pages (Brand, Channel). Brands
and Channels are the only levels eligible for
Categorization/Subcategorization. Levels include: Parent, Brand, Channel, Category, Subcategory,
Domain, Subdomain.
MINUTES PER SESSIONTOTAL NUMBER OF MINUTES FOR THE

The number of minutes per web session. Total
Minutes for a website (including applications)

number of unique pages viewed by the total number
of site audience. The average page views for an
entity during the reporting period.

Page Views per Person is the Total Page Views for
a website divided by Total Sessions. A session in

Name of the website’s parent entity. Parent provides
the Parent-level information for a Brand or Channel.

Sessions per Person is the number of sessions in
which a website or application was viewed 1+ times
divided by its Unique Audience.
TOTAL MINUTES (000)SUM OF MINUTES SPENT ON AN ENTITY.

Total Minutes is the total number of minutes
during an active web session in which a website’s
page is the active window for an in-focus browser
or while an application is in focus. If a website or
application is in focus for over 30 minutes without
any user activity, the time spent is dialed back to
one minute. The (000) designates that the number
is in thousands. For example, 3 million is 3,000
instead of 3,000,000.

A page view is an HTTP request. The Total Web
Page Views is defined as the total number of
times a web page is requested by a user. Page
views are counted only when they are fully loaded
into the user’s browser window. Pages accessed
from the user’s local cache are included in Page
View counts. Unique pages will be counted each
time they are requested. Only text/html, text/xml,
and text/JavaScript calls are eligible for Page
Views. The (000) designates that the number
is in thousands. For example, 3 million is 3,000
instead of 3,000,000.

A visit is defined as a continuous series of
browser events or app events with no longer than
30 mins of inactivity between these events. A
visit ends when the duration between 2 events is
more than 30 minutess (configurable). The Total
Visits is defined as the total number of visits to
an entity. The (000) designates that the number
is in thousands. For example, 3 million is 3,000
instead of 3,000,000.

Unique Audience is the total number of unique
persons that visited the website or used an
application at least once in the specified reporting
period. Persons visiting the same website or using
the same application more than one time in the
reporting period are only counted once. The (000)
designates that the number is in thousands. For
example, 3 million is 3,000 instead of 3,000,000.

percentage of a website’s Unique Audience
that is from a specific target audience. The
number of unique persons falling into a specific
demographic target expressed as a percentage of
the total number of persons visiting the site or
using the application. For example, “45% of the
persons that went to website A during the month
of December were women.”

CELLPHONE UNIVERSE.
PRECISION: 2 DECIMAL POINTS
Universe Reach is defined as the total number of
unique persons that have visited the site or used
the application among the universe estimate for
all people with cell phones. This is based on the
entire cellphone universe and not by your selected
demo breaks.
