Observations Way Forward

On average, Meter Readers in IBC Gulshan have been taking 3,224 readings per month

The average time taken per meter reading 1.1 minutes

Connections read by meter readers

Time taken per MRU comparison can provide insights on delayed billing

Tracking Meter Readers’ efficiency & performance

MR Codes

Most common MR code which accounted for 12% was “Meter on high position” providing feedback on new connection installations.

25/58 MR Codes are theft related which accounted for 17.5% .

Devising loss reduction strategies, targeting possible leakages

Giving feedback to other teams such as New Connections or M&C

Pictures Analysis of pictures will start as soon as they

are mapped with the account numbers of the consumers.

Pictures are expected to prove as an excellent measure for

Evidence of theft in order to bring objectivity to the process & save KESC time and resources in court cases

Proof of meter reading to be kept in record & meter’s position to assess any changes on it.

GPS Functions

Currently the GPS functions have been disabled due to high battery consumption

Team is currently looking for solution to high battery consumption

Tracking the Meter Reader’s route & meter reading activities

GIS Mapping to consumer account will open new avenues for analysis and tracking for efficient operations.

• Step 1: Click on KESC icon to login.

• Step 2: A login page will appear on the screen

1. Click on “Meter Reader ID” & enter the Employee no.

2. Click on “Password” box & enter the password

3. click on “Login Now” to proceed.

• Step 3:

1. Click on “Menu” option

2. Click on “download G-Form” to download G Document.

1. Click on “MRU”

2. Now view how many lots have been assigned to you.

2. Click on “Process G-Form” to View G Document.

• Step 4:

1. Click on any consumer record to type its Meter Reading

2. Now click on “Reading” option to type meter reading.

• Step 5: Click on “K1 Pic.” option to capture the same meter’s picture ONLY in case of any discrepancy

1. Click on “MR Note”

2. Select on appropriate discrepancy number.

3. If there is no discrepancy let it remain “0- NONE”

4. If you find more than one discrepancy

– Click on “Remarks” option and type your Remarks

– After noting Remarks Click on “Done”

– Other remarks can also be typed in “Remarks” option for example.

• Step 7:

1. After Pressing “Done” on Remarks typed, Following Screen will appear

2. Now Click “Save” to save all the data typed about the consumer

• Use “Cancel” option to un-save all data

• Click on “Detail” option to view the consumer’s information.

• To go back to pervious screen use “Back To Entry Form”.

• Step 8:

After saving all data :

1. click on mobile “Menu” key

2. Then click on “Back To Main” option.

2. Press “Menu” key again

3. Click on “Summary Update” option to view that how many connections have been read

• When all the data is saved successfully.

• use mobile “Menu” key to go back to G-Form

• You will see “(* ” before saved data.• This mark shows that data has been saved successfully.

1. Press “Menu” key again

3. Click on “Post to Server” option to Post saved data to server

• If all the consumer records are out of sequence in G form, then use “Search Records”.

• To view all consumers’ record in G form “Show All” option is used for.

• When all the connection is posted to the server successfully the G document will be blank in your device.

• “About” option is used to view information regarding the application which is used for meter reading.

Change Password

1. Click on “Change Password”

2. Enter you current password in “Current Password” box

3. Now enter new password in “New Password” box

4. Now Re-enter your new password to confirm it

5. Now click on “Proceed”

Delete G Forms

1. Click on Menu & select the option “More”

2. Click on Delete G-Form to delete G Form from your device

3. Deletion token will be provided to M.R / MDMO form his Manager or A.M.

• Use “More” to quit form the G form application.

2. Download G Form

3. Process G Form

4. Enter Readings ,MR Codes, Pictures, Remarks and Save.

5. Go to Summary Update to check if all records are read and saved

6. Click post to server

1. What to do when data doesn’t post to server while GPRS or Wi-Fi both the services are available and working properly?

2. Is taking Pictures of every meter necessary?

• Save the screen from dirt

• Use screen protector

• Keep screen clean

• Carry cloth to clean the dirty meters don’t clean them with your hands

• Wear a CAP to see better under sunlight

– Don’t charge all night

– Keep Mobile Data or Wi-Fi switched off when not in use

– Charge battery till 100% don’t break the cycle

– Always come to office with 100% charged battery
