E-Learning Sample Screenshots
The 22 screenshots in this gallery, illustrate some of the guidelines and principles we apply when developing e-learning.
This first example shows two learning agents (or avatars). Research has identified they promote effective learning.
Learning agents (or avatars) help make learning memorable.
Personalising content through use of characters or real-life personalitiessignificantly improves motivation and learning.
Scenario-based learning successfully engages and motivates.
Short case studies are meaningful and memorable challenge activities, helping bring learning points to life.
Simple reflective exercises make learning memorable and encourage embedding and transfer of learning.
Scenario-based learning with a meaningful challenge, motivating activities and memorable feedback is highly effective for skills-based
learning.

Simultaneous audio and text can depress learning. Better to use only one or other. In this case audio only.

The following 9 screens are part of a case study exercise created for a humanitarian relief organisation. The case study focuses on the conflict in a fictional country called Bogna.
Although not real, the scenario is similar to the kind of real world events many learners working for this organisation routinely deal with. In this respect it meets the ‘meaningful, memorable and motivating’ criteria we apply to our work.

Within the context of the Bogna crisis, this screen sets a simple, but realistic challenge for learners. The activity requires them to use their existing skills and knowledge to reflect on the possible consequences of the Internal Affairs Minister’s statement.
Learners receive relevant feedback, helping them to compare their thoughts and reasoning against the framework of international law. They can move the feedback box to compare it with their answer.
In some instances, learners are required to develop exact recall of specific facts or guidelines. This short activity helps embed exact recall.
Learners receive precise feedback. They can compare their response to the exact wording of the Humanitarian Charter.
