The Haka may also be used to tell of great feasts. 4. How long they fight and who they fight One New Zealand war started in1860 and lasted 12 days. Maori warfare was a very bigpart of early Maori life andtribes. The tribes fought eachother. 5. Weapons Weapons were used for face to face combatfighting. Tribes use lots of different types ofweapons such as wooden daggers named teteand the taumarunui and a spear calledapouwnenua. The weapons that Maoris used includedclubs.
