This is an R16 event designed to cater to late teens and adult thrill seekers. Ghost Night will be a super fright night, ID will have to be shown prior to admission. The experience will require great nerves and will be best undertaken in groups, first hurdle is the cemetery, if you can handle that then move on to the super fright stations if you dare, passing coffins, skeletons, spooky shed and many other terrifying spots. There are sounds and sights that will freeze your blood. Then you will reach the tower and you will find more......... The Inglewood Lions have run the ‘Maze’ for nine years on 4 different sites with this year being the first time on this Upper Egmont Road site and the largest yet at 3.2 hectares, 600,000 maize plants intertwined with 3.5 km of tracks, plus there is a tyre maze, mini maze, cube puzzle with free pony rides and bouncy castle on special days. Over the years 50,000 people have gone through the gates, turning over $250,000. The community has benefited with funds raised going to sports people, speech contests, and youth travel, Taranaki Hospice, Jaws of Life, Search and Rescue, Fire Brigade, Rescue Helicopter. There has been Jazz Bands, Champagne Breakfasts, glow sticks. The first year the Lions made $2200 and thought they had done well as it rained and snowed and most of their time was spent sitting under a leaky shelter, now there is a container for storage and a new office/shop. The Taranaki Maize Maze has proved itself to be a major part of Taranaki’s entertainment scene thanks to our own Inglewood Lions willingly giving up untold hours over the spring and summer. Proceeds this year go towards Child Cancer.
