The objective of these newsletters is to keep the members informed of the activities in the Mandal, recent developments and future programmes. Feedback and suggestions from the members are always welcome. From the President’s Desk Ram Ram Sa! It’s been close to one year now since this committee took the responsibility to run Marwari Mitra Mandal. A lot has happened since the 8 th newsletter in Sept 2016. We celebrated the signature event of Diwali with lots of pomp and glory. We had an enjoyable evening together at the Ritz Carlton with support from the sponsors. We would like to thank all the sponsors for supporting the society so generously. After that, in January, we had our inaugural Badminton tournament, as part of our initiative to promote and organize more healthy and inclusive events that our members of all ages can take part in. With the tournament witnessing such a positive response, we hope to organize more such events next year on a larger scale. Family Picnic was no less of a fun for all to spend quality time together. As usual, we observed Holika Dahan with Gujrati Society. The grand Holi Mela was organized jointly by 4 societies; Marwari, Gujrati, Sindhi and Maharashtra together with Katong CC. The Holi Mela was graced by the Indian High Commissioner of Singapore, Shri Javed Ashraf ji and Mr. Lim Biow Chuan, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adviser to Mountbatten Grassroots Organizations, MP for Mountbatten SMC. Our MMM Ladies Wing got together to organize and celebrated Gangaur. As usual, we also had 3 blood donation drives. ……. Mr. Kamal Kishore President – Marwari Mitra Mandal Diwali Milan – Sunday, November 5, 2016 Theme for last year’s Diwali event was Colourful India. We had 9 performances representing some of the states from India. Highlights of this year's Diwali Milan was telecast on Vasantham at 9pm on 2 nd December, 2016 with a repeat telecast on 3 rd December, 2016 at 8pm. It’s been close to one year now since this committee took the responsibility to run Marwari Mitra Mandal.
A lot has happened since the 8th newsletter in Sept 2016. We celebrated the signature event of Diwali with lots of pomp and glory. After that, in January, we had our inaugural Badminton tournament, as part of our initiative to promote and organize more healthy and inclusive events that our members of all ages can take part in. Blood Donation Drives – 2nd October 2016, January 8, 2017 and 2nd April 2017
Our quarterly Blood Donation Drive was held at
Sindhu House from 9.30am to 3.30pm on 2nd
October 2016, 8th January, 2017 and 2nd April 2017
The events were held in collaboration with
Mountbatten CC, Mountbatten Indian Committee,
Singapore Gujarati Society, Amber Neighbourhood
Committee and Maharashtra Mandal Singapore.
As usual a number of people came to support the
cause and those who were eligible, donated.
For your health and well-being, donor must: Be between 16 and 60 years old Weigh at least 45 kg Have a haemoglobin level of at least 12.5 g/dl Should be in good health Not have had any symptoms of infection for at
least 1 week e.g. sore throat, cough, runny nose, diarrhoea
Not have had a fever in the last 3 weeks Not travelled within 120 days from the
donation date

Badminton Championship – January 21 & 22 2017
With a vision to organize more healthy activities
and events for society members of all ages, we held
our inaugural Badminton Championship in January.
We received tremendous response and the event
was a grand success. A total of 33 participants
registered to play both Doubles and Singles. In all,
and give courage to the grieved families to bear this
irrevocable loss in life.
