All instruments in the range incorporatemicroprocessor control, with our highquality electrolytic moisture sensor, to bringflexibility to your process environment. These analysers provide an absolutemeasurement, with accurate dependableresults over a wide range from 0.01ppm to1000ppm. Unit of measurement can beselected from ppmv or dew point (°C or °F).

The sample systems for all MM500instruments are manufactured usingstainless steel throughout.

Simply select the instrument configurationand sensor location and let the analyser dothe rest.

The MM500 Moisture Analysersrepresent the latest advance in moistureanalysis – designed to be customised toyour application giving precisemeasurements while providing a simple, yet affordable analyser.

The Thermal Mass Flow Controller optionfor the internal sensor model automaticallymaintains the correct flow for maximumaccuracy. An added benefit with this optionis flow alarms to ensure the instrument andsample system are always in the correctconfiguration.

Remote sensors are available to meet allyour needs. The general purpose P2O5sensor includes a wall mounting bracketwith flow valves for easy installation. Thesensor connects to the analyser using asimple coaxial cable and can be mountedup to 100 metres from the analyser.

For increased peace of mind, anautocalibrate check option is available. The instrument can be connected tocertified gas and programmed to perform acalibration check at regular intervals. Theinstrument displays a warning and faultalarm if the error exceeds preset limits.

To achieve an absolute measure, thetechnology draws upon a fundamentalprinciple of physics.

The phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) moisturesensor consists of a dual platinum windingformed around a quartz tube about 8 cmlong. The extremities of the windings aresealed by a resin coating, and the bareplatinum electrodes coated with a thin filmof P2O5. PTFE guides are provided at eachend of the sensor through which theelectrical connections to the windingsprotrude. A constant voltage is appliedacross the windings and the resultantcurrent is monitored. As a flow of gas ispassed over the sensor, the moisture in thegas stream is attracted to the P2O5 coating, and the resistance of the platinum coilchanges due to the electrolysis of themoisture into hydrogen and oxygen gases. This change in resistance creates a changein the measured current, that according toFaraday’s Law is directly proportional to theamount of moisture in the gas stream. Therefore, a knowledge of the gas flow ratethrough the sensor and the current in thecell gives an absolute measure of themoisture contained in the sample gas.

All Systech Illinois’ sensors are made to laboratory standards of precision and industrialstandards of durability. Stainless steel housings, lab grade components and controlledenvironment manufacturing ensure the finest, most consistently precise sensors in the industry.
