Getting the most out of your dehumidifierCombine operating mode and swing louvre function to get optimum results.
Drying laundry indoors
¡Use the dehumidifier ina small, enclosed room.
¡Direct the louvres at thelaundry.
¡Space laundry toimprove airflow
¡Maintain roomtemperature above 16°C with an airconditioner
• In low temperatures, drying takes about twice as long asnormal. (Drying times will vary depending on the nature ofthe laundry and the room temperature.)
• The airflow is strongest to the top right of the unit.
Installing your dehumidifier
Make sure to leave somespace around the unit.
<For use in close proximity toa wall>
Stop the louvre in the verticalposition. Blowing air at thewall may cause staining.
Operating noise
Place the unit on top of a mat. This reducesvibration and noise. It also prevents leavingdepressions on carpets.
∞ Drain the water tank before use ∞ Refrain from opening doors/windows during operation ∞

Do not stand on, sit on orlean against the unit.
The unit may tip over causinginjury.
Do not put vases or anyother objects filled withwater on the unit.
Water may leak into the unitadversely affecting electric insulationand cause electric shock and/orfire by short-circuiting.
Do not use the unit where it maybe exposed to direct sunlight orother weather conditions. (Thisunit is for indoor use only.)
This may cause overheating, electric shock and/or fire causedby an electric leak.
Do not use the unit in narrow, enclosed places such asinside closets, between piecesof furniture, etc.
This results in poor ventilation andmay cause heat generationand/or fire.
Do not use combustionappliances in the path ofthe air outlet.
This may cause incompletecombustion in the appliance.

Do not point air-flow fromthe unit directly at thebody .
If air-flow is directed at the body forlong periods, it may harm one’sphysical condition and lead todehydration.
Install the unit in a location wherethe floor is flat and stable.
If the unit falls over, the watercollected in the water tank mayleak damaging surrounding objectsand in turn result in fire or electricshock caused by an electricalleak.
Grasp the plug and removefrom the power socket.
When removing the plug from thepower socket, do not pull on itdiagonally or by the cord as thismay cause the projections/wiring tobe damaged resulting in a shortcircuit, electric shock or fire.
Before moving the unit alwaysswitch it off, unplug it and removewater from the water tank.
Moving the unit with water in itstank may cause the water to leakand damage the surroundingobjects and in turn result in electricshock and/or an electric leak.
After emptying the tank, transport the unit by graspingthe handle firmly.
Losing your footing while carryingthe unit may cause personal injuryor damage to the floor.
When using the continuousdrainage outlet, make sureto position the hose so thatthe water drains withoutobstruction.
The water in the tank may leak anddamage surrounding objects.
When draining watercontinuously or leftunattended for longperiods, inspect the unitevery two weeks.Do not allow debris to clogthe filter/hose as this maycause over-heating/leakage.
Use the unit with caution inrooms where the walls, furniture and art work isvulnerable to dry air, as itmay cause cracks and warping.
Switch the unit off andunplug from the powersource when cleaning it.
When the unit is on, the internal fanrotates at high speeds and maycause injury.
Unplug the unit from thepower source when notusing the unit for anextended period of time.

Room temperature may rise 2-4°C during operation
The humidity reading on the unitmay differ from a hygrometer inthe same room
How does the dehumidifierwork? If you pour cold water into a cup, the air aroundit becomes cold, causing water droplets to formon the surface of the cup.The dehumidifier takes advantage of thisphenomenon to remove moisture from the air.
1The unit draws air from the room, cools it withits cooling coil, causing the moisture totransform into water droplets.
2The water droplets fall into the water tank.3The dehumidified air is reheated by the
heating coil, and then discharged. The humidity of the room is thus reduced byrepeating steps 1, 2, and 3.
How is mildew growthsuppressed?Mildew is unable to produce new spores if driedas mycelia. The Mildew Guard feature appliesthis principle. (However, the spores themselvesare resilient to dry conditions.)

Environmental Biology Research Center>
Re-heating coilCooling coil

Compressor
Dried (warm) air
Water tank
The dehumidifier does not have a cooler function. Dueto heat produced during operation, the roomtemperature may rise 2-4°C. As a result, the unit mayblow warm air, but this is not due to a malfunction.
Even in the same room, temperature and humidity levelsmay differ from place to place. If the hygrometer andthe unit are in different parts of the room, the humiditylevels are prone to differ. Moreover, humidity levels differ between places thathave good and no airflow.Use the reading on the unit as an estimate.
In winter, the temperature is low and the air is dry, therefore making dehumidifying impossible.* If temperatures are low, but humidity is high due to
snow or rain, operating the unit in Low Temp mode willyield better results than Low mode.
Values for HIGH dehumidifying operation
¡The dehumidification values shown on the graphwere measured at constant temperature and humidityand do not reflect actual usage conditions.

When you want to dry clothes quickly(without the hassles of calculating humidity levels and timer settings for the amount of laundry)
¡Laundry The unit operates for 12 hours and automatically switches off.
∞Empty the water tank before operating the unit. The unit may stop before the clothes are dry due to a full tank.∞Do not use in conjunction with OFF Timer mode. The unit may stop before the clothes are dry.∞The following conditions prevent clothes from drying well:
Room temperature below 15°C, large volume of laundry; laundry not spaced well; clothes of thick fabricand spacious room.
∞When the room temperature is below 5°C, less water evaporates from the clothes, decreasing theamount of temperature change. Therefore the unit is unable to detect the state of the laundry andmay turn off after 1 hour.
∞Restart the unit if it turns off before the laundry dries (except when the temperature is below 5°C).

¡The unit continues operation if the humidity leveldoes not decrease.
∞Refrain from turning on ventilation fans or opening windows or doors as this lowers performance.∞Mildew growth may still occur due to the fungus type and conditions of the room.

¡Dehumidified air passes through heating coils causing it towarm (this unit is not a cooler). This is not a malfunction.
¡Check to see if the temperature/humidity is low.Low room temperature/humidity reduces dehumidifyingeffectiveness. Confirm the current humidity reading (in winter, the air is dry reducing dehumidifying effects to zero). This isnot a malfunction.
¡Check to see if the power cord is correctly plugged.➝ Plug the power cord properly into the power socket.
¡Check to see if anything is blocking the air intake or outlet.➝ Remove the obstruction.
