It’s no secret that senior Morgan Eye can make a few three-pointers each game. In her sophomore season, Eye set a new Southeastern Conference and Mizzou school record with 112 three-pointers made. Her 3.5 threes per game made her the 2012-13 NCAA National Statistical Champion for the season as well. This year, Eye is just 110 treys away from breaking the NCAA Career three-pointers record (392), which is currently held by Laurie Koehn (Kansas State) and Heather Butler (UT Martin).

2014-15 Sec StandingSFreshmen Phenoms Mizzou’s three sophomores, Jordan Frer-icks, Kayla McDowell and Sierra Michae-lis, finished last season as arguably one of Missouri’s most productive freshman classes as the three newcomers aver-aged 19.2 points per game on 45.4-per-cent shooting. The trio averaged 13.6 re-bounds and 2.6 assists in 16.9 minutes on the floor per game while committing just four turnovers each contest. Mizzou had not seen that type of production out of its freshmen since the 1996-97 season when Julie Helm, Amy Monsees and Ekpedeme Akpaffiong averaged 25.4 points per game on 43.6-percent shooting. The 96-97 trio averaged 9.4 rebounds per game while dishing 4.4 assists and averaging 6.5 turn-overs a game. As freshmen, the three re-jected 57 shots to the 96-97 year’s 10.
Tigers with the Upset Did you know: Mizzou has defeated two or more ranked teams in three of head coach Robin Pingeton’s four years at Miz-zou?
STUDENT-Athletes The Tigers have seen consistent improve-ment in the classroom under head coach Robin Pingeton. An increasing number of student athletes are earning academic recognition from the conference office each season. In 2011, The Tigers had just two Academic All-Big 12 selections. That number increased to seven in 2012. In 2013, Mizzou earned nine academic hon-ors from the SEC office before increasing the tally to 10 honors last season includ-ing Lianna Doty’s SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year award.
Handing out Assists Mizzou has also spent an increasing amount of time out in the community un-der Pingeton’s direction. The Tigers logged just 260 hours of community service in the 2010-11 season, but have steadily increased that number to 358 hours last season.
