DAY 1
HOME SHIRAZMeals on BoardAssemble at the airport and depart for Shiraz,
one of the oldest cities of ancient Persia.
DAY 2
SHIRAZ Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerUpon your arrival, begin your tour with the
highlights of Shiraz, the former capital of
Iran during the Zand Dynasty. Be inspired
by the glorious Karim Khan Fortress and
walk through Zandieh complex, which
includes the Vakil Mosque, traditional Bazaar and Bath. See the beautiful Nasir al-Mulk Mosque with its unique stained-
glass windows. End your day with a visit to
the Qavam House, which is also known as
Narenjestan-e Qavam, a unique and ancient
building in the old district of city.
DAY 3
SHIRAZ PERSEPOLIS SHIRAZBreakfast, Lunch, DinnerAfter breakfast, take an hour’s drive to
explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of
Persepolis, the former centre of the Persian
Empire. On the way back to Shiraz, drop by
the rock cut tombs at Naqsh-e-Rostam,
the burial place of Darius the Great and
his successors. Pass by Quran Gate and
Hafezieh and Saadieh, the tomb of famous
poets Hafez and Saadi. Continue your
journey to the lovely Eram Gardens, also
known as the ‘Garden of Paradise’ (Bagh-e
Eram), one of the most beautiful and
monumental gardens of Iran.
DAY 4
SHIRAZ PASARGADAE YAZDBreakfast, Lunch, DinnerToday, make your way to Pasargadae, the
ancient capital and burial site of Cyrus the
Great, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit the Tomb of Cyrus the Great and
remains of Achaemenian palaces and
edifices. After lunch, you will be driven to
Abarkooh to see the Adobe Ice House,
an ancient building used to store ice and
food throughout the year. Continue your
journey to the city of Yazd for dinner and
an overnight stay.
DAY 5
YAZD ISFAHANBreakfast, Lunch, DinnerBegin your adventure through the ‘City of
Windcatchers’ on an orientation tour. See the
Jameh Mosque of Yazd, a stunning example
of an Azari mosque, which boasts the tallest
minarets in the country, check out the
symmetrical alcoves of the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, then head on to the Water Museum
to see how the quants (underground water
channels) brought water to the city from
the mountains for thousands of years. You
will also visit the Fire Temple and Towers of Silence, both vestiges of the city’s Zoroastrian
heritage. Thereafter, travel to Isfahan for an
overnight stay.
