MSP’s Big Spring Preview-Part Two (2)
Spring fashions continue this week. This is the second half of the list of 12 top trends for spring 2016.
Fashion runways set the trends for us. The truth is, high fashions seen on the runways are styles in an exagerated form. These over-the-top styles are bold and grab attention. They are not neccessarily practical designs either. Often the proportions are extreme and exagerated-but eventually these fashions trickle down into real life clothing. Soon, these trends (or a form of them) start showing up in regular retail stores. That’s why it’s good to know the spring fashions-straight from the runway.
So, without further ado, here’s the rest of the list...
Shine On! Rejoice! Spring sparkles and shines. This season you’ll see touches of shine in everything from everyday shorts to special-occasion cocktail dresses, giving your wardrobe a chance to shine and shimmer. Now, there is need to wait for the holidays to get your sparkle on.
WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY:
HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND:
A shiny gold belt adds a touch of shine OR go all-out glam with an all sequin skirt...
Jump in on the “white shirt” trend (#2 on the list for spring) then add shine with bold earrings and bracelets OR wear a sparkle shirt with rolled up denims...
Stripes. This classic springtime theme becomes bold this Spring. Look for bold striped suiting pieces, tops and dresses. Anything striped, especially wide stripes is hot this spring.

Touches of Victorian. High necklines and ruffled bell sleeves rule. These regal details of Victorian-era-inspired pieces set your look apart. But relax, designers are bringing them into modern day with short hemlines, sheer finishes, notice-me fabrics, and even using denim fabric.

Wrap It Up. Without going too leggy, these wrap skirts (below) will give you just a hint of skin, so you can still get away with wearing one to the office.

Wear an at-the-knee skirt with a tank (tucked in) then add this season’s trendy sandals with lace-up details...
Tie or Belt It. It's never been easier to show off your middle and sculpt an hourglass shape. Designers are out to make the waist the focal point by using everything from ties over jackets to sashes and belted tops.

HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: Grab a tie belt from your closet and simply highlight your waist...it’s that simple. Look for tops and jackets this season with self-tie belts included. Waist definition gently defines your shape with this trend.

Spring Accessory/Shoe Trends.
Shoes, ah shoes. Let’s not leave out a woman’s most popular and fun accessory! There are many fab options this spring. Here’s the list:
Block heels.

Wood platforms. This look highlights the 70’s vibe that has been so popular last season. Personally, I’ve been there, and worn platform wood
heels (ouch) in the past, so I’m going pass on this trend. In my opinion, it’s a trend left best to the under 40 chicas because it’s a heavy-clunky type of shoe.
Urban sneakers. Throw-back sneaker styles from the past, low-profile, high-profile, bright colors, or all-white, embellished or printed; sneakers are a big part of this season’s casual trends.
Wear them with slim-cut rolled up jeans or shorts. You can also wear them with a casual skirt or sundress, if you dare!
Flats with lace up details (flat sandals or heeled). I’m in love. I’m hoping these cute flat lace-ups in bright colors, nude color, or animal print ones are comfortable because they are on the top of my “must-have for spring” list! Lace up sandals also are available in heel versions too.

Kitten heels. Just a little heel will do ya. There is no need for a high heel when it’s just as stylish to wear a kitten. Wearing a slight heel always helps balance your proportions.
