In July, our Community Members were very busy weeding, tilling and planting our Victory Garden. It is truly through the efforts of all who came out that the garden looks so great. We had an absolutely beautiful day to enjoy one another’s company and engage in conversation while designing and planting the garden. This year we are growing tomatoes for The Mississauga Food Bank to  give back to the hungry of our area.  As TMFB slogan states: “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope”. It feels good to know that we are doing our small part to help others that live right in our neighborhood. You will notice that there are herbs  growing in the garden. Anthony, our Executive Chef, has been out there  gathering many different herbs that now are being prepared in your V!VA licious meals. Please take the time to walk around the Victory Garden and enjoy the flowers as they grow and mature. You will find a group of dedicated Community Members who water the  garden after supper every day. Why not join them for a chat and enjoy the view? The more the merrier! Please collect any photos and important documents that  you would like to include in this scrapbook. We will also need greeting cards that can be cut and used for decoration purposes. If anyone has leftover wallpaper or decorative paper that will enhance our scrapbooks, please start to save them now as it will truly come in handy. Putting our photos and mementos together in a decorative way is a nice way for us to have some very important memories and times in our life all together in one book. I look forward to working on and seeing the end result so that we all can share and learn just a little bit more about each other. Look for scrapbooking to appear on the calendar in the fall.
