The Philippine American Medical Association of Georgia, Inc. 36TH Scientific Conference
Savannah Marriott Riverfront September 22-25, 2011
Henry Ford once said, “ Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.” This concept of teamwork is the guiding principle and foundation of what we do daily, and it is the main reason for our success.
Two strong women came together and worked together to make the Palawan medical-surgical mission in Puerto Princessa, Palawan a huge success. On behalf of pamag, I would like to thank Dr. Marilyn Beltran and Cora Villanueva, RN for job well done. Marilyn and Cora went to Palawan months before the actual mission to meet and be-friend the local physicians and the Rotary Club of Puerto Princessa, arrange hotel ac-commodations and send medical supplies. They did not hesitate to spend their own money and time to ensure the success of the Palawan medical mission.
There were 81 general surgeries, 53 outpatient surgeries, 49 eye surgeries, and 26 cleft surgeries by Smile Train team were performed.. Over 3,000 patients were seen in the outpatient clinic. Every member of the pamag medical-surgical team should be congratulated for their relentless effort in giving the best medical care to the people of Palawan.
PAMAG needs to continue to render medical-surgical care to the poorest of the poor.
THANK YOU. GOD BLESS PAMAG

Paul and Marilyn Beltran Drs. Halbert and Livia Capuy as well as our ever loyal friends and medical mission volunteers Mr. and Mrs. David and Jan-ice Petsch along with Dr. Florentino Mancao and wife Gabi from Germany. PAMAG
Scientific Conference
It is with great joy that I greet both friends and members of PAMAG On this 36th Annual Scientific Conference.
Our presence here today has given us the opportunity to reconnect with each other and at the same time make new acquaintances. It would also allow this time for us to network and share ideas and goals to further support PAMAG.
Let us keep the fervor, engagement, mentoring and spirit of cooperation to make PAMAG a strong and durable organization.
I urge everyone to forge a strong bond to unite us so that we can fulfill our common goal with God’s help. May we all be under the shadow of God’s wings. Under His Will and direction, He will never leave or forsake us if we fix our eyes and mind in Jesus Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith.
Again I wish all an enjoyable and memorable, 36th PAMAG Convention.
God Bless,
Linda G. Torres, RN

Hi,
I thought you might like to see a before and after of a little kid we were able to help thanks to your support.
Here are before and after photos for Princess Jilian Bautista.
Princess Jilian Bautista, female, before Princess Jilian Bautista, female, after
Princess is 1 year old. She lives in a very poor area of the Philippines, both her parents are uneducated and illiterate. They could never afford to pay for the surgery their daughter needed.
Luckily, someone told them about a hospital that had a free cleft surgery program for poor children. They took Princess to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and a few days later she received surgery from Smile Train surgeon Dr Ramon Gonzales on March 10, 2010.
Her surgery took under an hour if you can believe it. Look how nicely it turned out!
Princess is very lucky to have received the surgery she so desperately needed and can now begin a new life, including going to school when she gets older.
Unfortunately, there are millions of other kids who are not so lucky. Kids who are still waiting and wondering if anyone will ever help them.
Will you help us help just one more child?
Send us any donation, of any amount, and we’ll use 100% of it to help another kid like Princess.
(I’ll send you another photo, too, gladly, as a small token of our appreciation for your help.)
to donate-now call 1-800-935-7308.
Thanks for reading this and for helping us to help these kids.
All the best,
Brian
