Mise en scene planning
Luke
actorsThere are four actors that we plan to work with on this project Joss Evans, Tom Carr, Giles Horn and Tom Hulliyer. We chose these actors as they have all done well in GCSE drama, two of which have gone on to do it at A level and did serious acting outside of school, one of them has worked with us before on our AS project and the others will be just a serious about the work, we also think that they look the part and could easily portray their characters. We may also have one of our group acting as a presenter and one as a psychologist
Props
• Props that the actors actually interact with will be kept to a minimum, we plan to have cans of food and bottled water, to act as rations for the participants, we will also have a sheet of paper, potentially in an envelope, that will detail the challenges ahead
location• We will be using a scout hut, that we have obtained access to, for filming the
scenes with the participants, we will also be doing some filming around the hut as well, we have chosen theses areas as they tailor into our premise well as the hut is an empty space perfect for filming scenes for our documentary. If we cannot obtain the hut we will probably find a small room at one of our houses or in school, if possible.
Lighting
• The lighting will be kept natural as we want to promote the idea of realism within the extract, however we may use sot lighting for the “interviews” to illuminate peoples features, as some of these interviews will take place outside of the hut so it would be sticking to convention to do this
Costume
• We will keep costumes to casual wear, in a fashion similar to the island with Bear Grylls, however we will get the presenter to wear either smart or smart casual, as this is a convention of shows like this
Similar style to this
Why the audience will like it• We feel that audiences will like this as it is similar to the
popular series The island with bear Grylls, we also found that this sort of premise was much more popular to the “Mythbusters” style of documentary
