Page 2: Mise en-scene hospital

Location

• The overall location is within a hospital.• The hospital locations that are used within the

scene are Sarah's hospital room and the hallway.

Page 3: Mise en-scene hospital

Costume/ make-up

• Sarah's costume within the scene is just a hospital gown, obviously signifying she is injured and has been in an accident.

Page 4: Mise en-scene hospital

Movement• When Sarah first leaves her room she is only walking slowly

and cautiously as she is still confused about the whole situation. It is only when the lights in the hall way begin to turn off that she begins to change how she moves. She begins to run and react more frantically, it is only when she runs into Beth she stops running and falls to the floor in sorrow.

Lighting• The lighting for the the shots within Sarah's room and the corridor

have a dim light and a green tint, this gives an eerie effect to the shot. The shot is only fully lit when Sarah and Beth reunite.

• When we see Jess in darkness the only light provided in the shot is the candle light from the birthday cake.

Page 6: Mise en-scene hospital

Props• The first prop we see is a birthday cake which Jess is blowing

the candles out of. This is just dream that Sarah is having. • We also see Sarah attached to hospital equipment, such as a

heart beat monitor and breathing machine.• The heart beat monitor signifies that her life is gone because

her daughter and husband are both dead.
