There is always a need for addional tutors, especially on Thursday. There are about 5 students who are tutored on Tuesday, but do not return on Thursday because we do not have a tutor available. Additional Tutors and Substitute Tutors needed for Spring Semester

Spring semester of tutoring will start on January 17 and runs through May 18. There is always a need for additional tutors, especially on Thursday. There are about 5 students who are tutored on Tuesday, but do not return on Thursday because we do not have a tutor available. Can you commit to tutoring a student on Thursday from 5:30 – 6:30pm?

You may think, “I can’t tutor every Thursday or every Tuesday.” That’s okay; we still need you as a substi-tute tutor! Substitute tutors are called upon by regular tutors in advance when they have a need to be away.

You do not need special skills to be a tutor. You only need to give one hour per week and be willing to help

a student succeed in school. Contact one of the tutor coordinators, Connie Orander, Dick Orander, or

Carolyn Booker at [email protected].

I’m In – January 8, 15, 22, 29 “Are you in?” It’s a question we all answer over and over again. When there’s a party, when our coach says it’s time for tryouts, when we’re offered a summer job, when our friends go to the movies, or when someone invites us to church, we all have the chance to decide if we’re “in” or “out” for that particular activity. Sometimes the answer is an easy, “Count me in!” Other times it’s tougher. There are good reasons on both sides. Some of Jesus’ friends were faced with the same decision of whether they were “in” or “out.” They had good reasons to join the Jesus movement, but they also had some pretty compelling reasons to step out—things like doubt, guilt, pride, and the fear of what they might miss. As we get to know these sometimes famous and devoted followers, we’ll talk about the deci-sion they faced, why they could have walked away, and what led them to say, “I’m in.”

The Three Kings’ Day Celebration. –January 8th at 11:00am in the Sanctuary. This Celebration represented and described the story of the Magi that were following the Start that showed them the way were Baby Jesus was, and how they came to worship Him and brought Him some gifts as described in Matthew 2:9-11 “9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then

they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”

Everybody is invited to come and join us in the Chapel after 11:00am Service to share hot Chocolate and the traditional Kings’ Bread! The children will received a gift from the Three Kings!
