MINISTRY NEWS Serving the Community - Some of our Westminster family helped serve breakfast for the community at Basic United Methodist Church this on Saturday, June 1st. Thank you to all who donated, prepped food, served and helped clean up. A special thanks to Lindsey Coiner who helped organize. It was a great experience for some our youngest members. June 16 is Father’s Day where we will blend our stories/quotes from how our fathers have impacted our faith into the service. If you would like to share in one of the services next week or have a story to share please contact Pastor April. Disaster Relief Kits - Troop 73 Life Scout Nick Gimbert is working with UMCOR and the Fishersville United Methodist Church on his Eagle project to collect materials and funds to be used in putting together disaster relief hygiene kits. It is his hope to be able to put together at least fifty kits by July 15. Would you consider donating a hygiene kit? He has placed a collection box in the colonnade that will be there until the end of June. Thank you! A hygiene kit consists of: 1 hand towel (not kitchen or microfiber), 1 washcloth, 1 comb, 1 metal nail file or clippers, 1 bar soap (3oz or larger), 6 adhesive bandages, $1.00 for purchase of toothpaste. More details are in a flyer on the collection box. Personnel is actively searching for new Communications Assistant. A job description and application are available at Indeed.com. Any questions regarding this position please contact Suzanne Scott or Sue Krzastek. Thanks to everyone who participated in the two presentations for Sanctuary Renovation. This summer during the "Fruit of the Spirit" worship series, the communion table will display a bowl of fruit on the first Sunday of each month (July 7, and August 4). If you have fruit you would like to donate from your gardens for these worship services, please contact Sara Jordan at [email protected] . The fruit will be used at both worship services and displayed in a hand carved wooden bowl made by Bill Anderson. Fruit would need to be donated on or before the 9:00 service the first Sunday of the month. After both services, Kay Adamson will donate the fruit to the Ruth's WARM House. Summer Flowers for worship services. To enhance the worship spaces over the summer months, the worship ministry invites you to bring flowers from your garden for the chapel and sanctuary communion tables.
