THE BIG 4 AT THE BRIDGE

Truth ReignsEvery human longs for something that is real and reliable. In a culture of relativism, The Bridge believes that there is one, absolute, and unfailing truth: God. Truth goes beyond mere written word. When Christ came to Earth in the flesh (John 1:14), He showed us that he is the way and the Truth and the life... (John 14:5-6). Because Godʼs Word is Truth, and Jesus is the incarnation of this Truth, ultimately we want Jesus to reign! We want Truth to reign in the proclamation of His Word. This means that we are not afraid to proclaim the Truth of scripture; despite popular opinion or how it may make us feel. In order for Truth to reign, Jesus must become King, and His Word our only authority.

Life TransformationWhen the Truth reigns in our lives, we begin to take steps of obedience and can see God having an impact on our lives. In life transformation, we are becoming more and more like Christ, and it is a never-ending process! When we accept the Truth of Godʼs Word, the Holy Spirit takes up residence (2 Corinthians 5:17), and it is the Holy Spirit who transforms us from the inside out (John 17:17). To be transformed means to be sanctified, set apart, and to be made holy by Christ. As Truth reigns in our lives, Jesus becomes Lord of our life, and brings about life transformation.

Authentic Community The Bridge is composed of people with various backgrounds and life experiences, yet are unified by a common character trait. We are all sinners who desperately need grace, so we gather together in authentic community; opening ourselves to renewal and encouragement from one another. In authentic community, all facades vanish and brokenness is accepted. We practice authentic community through our adult and student ministries, small groups, and other family ministries throughout our church. Authentic community is not something we should strive toward, or a lofty idea-- itʼs what we must be!

External FocusAn externally focused life is the fruit of a disciple of Christ. To have an external focus means to take the focus off of ourselves and putting it on God and others. The Bridge is striving to share the truth of Christ in word and deed to the people around us. We have a large family of volunteers who serve inside and outside of the church walls. Our ministries wouldnʼt be possible without their willingness to offer their time and talents. The Bridge also financially supports various missionaries, local & global non-profit organizations, and sends several missions teams a year to share the love of Christ and meet the needs of the lost.
