CRITERIA THAT MUST BE MET FOR A PATIENT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE HEART SURGERY
The patient's heart condition must be appropriate for a minimally invasive approach. Not all heart conditions can
be treated using minimally invasive techniques, and some patients may require traditional open-heart surgery.
The patient must not have extensive scarring or adhesions from prior surgeries or procedures, as these can make
it difficult to access the heart using minimally invasive techniques.
The patient must not have significant calcification or blockages in the arteries, as these can make it more difficult
to access the heart and perform the necessary procedures.
The patient must not have other medical conditions that would make them a higher risk for complications during
surgery.
The patient must have a stable medical condition and not require emergency or urgent surgery.
The patient must be willing and able to follow the post-operative care plan, including any necessary lifestyle
modifications and medication regimens.
