Figures equations, tables to be continuously numbered within a chapter Eg.Fig.4.1, Fig.4.2…../Table 4.1, Table 4.2….. 6. MS Word Times New Roman font, size 12 for body of text; size 14 and bold for both sub section titles and section titles; size 10 for table heading and figures and captions. 7. For chapter title, suitably large font size and bold and suitable font (Times New Roman). 8. If a figure or table in chapter 3 happen to be the fourth then assign 3.4 to that figure(eg.. Fig 3.4 Table 3.4) 9. All pages should be numbered continuously. 10. For figures, captions should be at the bottom of the figure, graphs, charts flow diagrams etc., 11. For tables, captions should be above the tabular column. 12. Tables and figures should confirm to the margin specifications. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF MINI PROJECT REPORT

FOR B. TECH (CSE)

1.1. General instructions

1. Enough matter (text, figures etc) in a page; not mostly white space

2. First Para of a chapter briefly state what is done in the chapter; last Para of a chapter to

gently lead to next chapter.

3. Give the equipment, hardware configuration details in appendix; so also company details to

be given in an Appendix (if appropriate)

4. Figures should have captions and be numbered Eg.Fig.5.8 Variation of speed with load.

5. Figures equations, tables to be continuously numbered within a chapter Eg.Fig.4.1,

Fig.4.2…../Table 4.1, Table 4.2…..

6. MS Word Times New Roman font, size 12 for body of text; size 14 and bold for both sub

section titles and section titles; size 10 for table heading and figures and captions.

7. For chapter title, suitably large font size and bold and suitable font (Times New Roman).

8. If a figure or table in chapter 3 happen to be the fourth then assign 3.4 to that figure(eg..

1.2 Order of items in Report:

1.2.1 Cover Page

1. Only spiral biding, pink color.

2. Model cover page is enclosed in appendix- A (ref page no 5)

1.2.2 Bonafide Certificate

1. Use double –spacing for typing the bonafide certificate

2. Refer appendix-B (ref page no 6)for sample cover page.

3. Certificate from external guide also to be included (if applicable)

1.2.3 Acknowledgement

1. Acknowledgement should be brief and should not exceed one page when typed double

spacing.

2. It should follow the hierarchy: Lord, Founders, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Director,

HOD, IPC, internal guide (if applicable) and external guide. Each should be in separate

paragraphs in one page. The names should not be cut and kept in different lines. The

students should read the hard copy of what is being submitted.

3. Refer appendix-C (ref page no 7) for sample.

1.2.4 Synopsis

1. Abstract (or summary) of the report; should be maximum of two pages.

2. Include the purpose of the study

3. The methodology used.

4. Summary of the major findings

5. Conclusions and recommendations.

6. Refer appendix-D (ref page no 8) for sample

1.2.5 Contents page

1. In the contents page, sections, subsections to be dotted decimal numbered with proper

indentation.

2. Pages to be continuously numbered (including appendices)

3. Page number to be given at the bottom center of page.

4. Refer appendix- E (ref page no 9) for sample

1.2.6 Chapters and text

1. Each chapter should be given an appropriate title.

2. Chapter headings font size 16 bold at the top of a new page.

3. The text should be typed in Ms Word, font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Spacing full

justified.

4. Divisions and subdivision titles should be in font size 14, bold Times New Roman and to

be numbered as eg: 4,2,4,2.5 respectively.

5. All division headings in capital letters and all subdivision headings in small letters.

6. No separate sheet should be provided for chapter title.

7. All typings should be in black.

8. The format for typing chapter headings, division headings and subdivision headings are

shown below:

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION Division heading : 1.3 ORGANISATION OF PROJECT REPORT

Subdivision heading : 1.1.2 Literature review.

1.3 Writing the report/ Main Body of the report

1. The main body of the report should be organized into logical parts or sections that follow

along in an orderly manner.

2. The body will usually occupy several chapters. It must include the literature review.

1.4 Number of copies of Report submission

Total No. of copies = n+2;

(i.e. n = no: of students in the batch

department library = 1

Internal Guide=1

personal copy = 1)

1.5. Conclusion and future development

There should be a separate chapter devoted to this. Considerations of the implications and

meaning of the results. It should also contain suggestion for future work, or alternative

approaches/forms of investigation, hindsight, might have lead to an improved investigation. This

is often the weakest part of a dissertation. It must relate the findings of the work to previous

work (from the literature review). Show to what extent you have gone beyond previous work,

what contribution you have made and what are the limitations of your work.

1.6. Reference

1. Reference citations to papers should be in this order :

i. Author Name(s), title of paper in double quotes, Name of Journals in Italics,

Volume, Number, pages, month and year.

2. Reference to books should have these details :

i. Name of Author(s), Title of book in Italics, Edition number, Publisher, year of

publication.

3. See Appendix G for sample Reference page.

ANNEXURE D

SYNOPSIS

Security has become an inseparable issue as information technology is ruling the world

now. Cryptography is the study of mathematical techniques related aspects of Information

Security such as confidentiality, data security, entity authentication and data origin

authentication, but it is not the only means of providing information security, rather one of the

techniques. Visual cryptography is a new technique which provides information security which

uses simple algorithm unlike the complex, computationally intensive algorithms used in other

techniques like traditional cryptography. This technique allows Visual information (pictures,

text, etc) to be encrypted in such a way that their decryption can be performed by the human

visual system, without any complex cryptographic algorithms. This technique represents the

secret image by several different shares of binary images. It is hard to perceive any clues about a

secret image from individual shares. The secret message is revealed when parts or all of these

shares are aligned and stacked together. In this paper we provide an overview of the emerging

Visual Cryptography (VC) and related work which is based on the recovering of secret image. A

binary logo is used to represent the ownership of the host image and verifies the reliability of the

reconstructed image. The logo is used to generate shadows by visual cryptography algorithms.

An error correction-coding scheme is also used to create the appropriate shadow. The logo

extracted from the half-toned host image identifies the cheating types. Furthermore, the logo

recovers the reconstructed image when shadow is being cheated.
