XML Web Service

A web service is any service that is available over the Internet, uses a standardized XML messaging system, and is not tied to any one operating system or programming language (Cerami,2002).

The originator of a Web connection is no longer just the consumer or supplier of information. The originator can participate in a distributed application environment and issue remote procedure calls to request services.

Conclusion

In corporate level, disaster recovery planning can be efficiently applied using XML Web Services concept

Implementing XML Web Service in corporate disaster recovery planning need better security to concern, since that remote backup can be so dangerous.

Integrating disaster recovery planning among companies in a corporation, should use metadata and heading into data warehousing and also only collect most important data that will provide high availability.

Security improvement of XML Web Service passing parameter could be being specified more detail such as the combination of crypto-compression techniques

The thought of load balancing server in remote backup server, also more detail in clustering backup server for each company

So, then what ?

Is STIKOM’s infrastructure can be categorized as corporate infrastructure ?

Thus, are we already implement disaster recovery planning ?

At least, are we ready with disaster recovery planning implementation ?

And remember, DRP is not just hardware and software implementation. Most important thing in DRP is brainware preparation !!!!
