There were 42 members present. Secretary Chip Scefonas read the minutes of the August 6th Regular Meeting, followed by the reading of the August 27th Officers Meeting; providing any items not covered to be brought up during the meeting under new business. Treasurer, Vincent Fiordalisi reported on the club’s fi- nances, bills to be paid, and communications received. 2014 Private Party Schedule Ted Morfis Saturday, October 4th Tim Murcott Saturday, October 18th Year 2014 Dates to Remember Sep 1 Nov 30 Monthly Bass, Blues, and Black; There is a $5.00 entry fee for each species. Sep 14 Oyster Bay Bluefish Tournament Sep 14 Mill River Bluefish Derby runs concurrent with Bluefish Tournament Sep 21 Bow Shoot (Details to be announced) Sep 26, 4-Way Rodeo starts Friday, at 6 PM; Weigh-in and 27 & 28 breakfast at Matinecock R & G Club 9 AM, breakfast 10 AM Sep 26, Mill River Black Sea Bass Derby; Weigh-in at M.B.S.C. 27 & 28 at 10 AM. Derby will run concurrent with 4-Way Rodeo. Sep 27 Hunter Safety Bow Course from 8 AM to 5 PM at Mill River Rod & Gun Club. Oct 1 Regular Monthly Meeting: 8 PM (Dinner 7 PM) Oct 3, 4 & 5 Mill River at Huntington Anglers Bass, Blues, Blackfish & Black Sea Bass Derby. No Fee. Host: Huntington Anglers Oct 4 12 Mill River Blackfish Derby Weigh-in Sunday Oct. 12th at 12 Noon. Oct 18, 19 Oyster Festival (Details to be announced.) Oct 25, 26 Hunter Safety Gun Course: 10 AM to 3 PM both days. Nov 5 Regular Monthly Meeting: 8 PM (Dinner 7 PM) Mill River Cuisine Reported by Ken Warren Tonight’s dinner of consisted of roast pork, a delicious rice dish, mushrooms, and a garden salad that was prepared and cooked by Dwight McKinney, Rick Alfano, Tom Hornosky, Charlie Noviello, Kevin Cronin, and Pat Vissichelli. Our thanks to everyone concerned for a great meal! The cleanup crew consisted of: Rick Ranno, Jimmy Dupré, Chris DeNatale and Joe Rodgers, Thank you guys for a great job! Hunter Safety Reported by Serge Nepo Serge Nepo advises that the Bow Course maxed-out at 60 attendees. The sign-up for the Gun Course can be done beginning September 22nd to October 25th. Fishing Reported by George Josberger Results of the Norm McCloy Porgy Derby held on August 10th: September is a big fishing month at the club. Club’s monthly Bass, Blues and Black runs Septem- ber 1st to November 30th. Town of Oyster Bay Bluefish Tournament, Sunday, September 14th, runs con-current with Mill River Bluefish Derby. 4-Way Rodeo at Manhasset Bay Club, September 26th, 27th, 28th; breakfast at 9 A.M. Mill River Black Sea Bass runs concurrent with this 4-Way. George explained all the weigh-in procedures: Bluefish that are less than 9 lbs. cannot be weighed- in at Town of Oyster Bay Derby. Also, Striped Bass regulations will probably change next year due to decreased population.

September 3rd Meeting

President Ed Dupré brought this evening’s business

Mill River Cuisine

Tonight’s dinner of consisted of roast pork, a delicious

rice dish, mushrooms, and a garden salad that was

prepared and cooked by Dwight McKinney, Rick

Alfano, Tom Hornosky, Charlie Noviello, Kevin Cronin,

and Pat Vissichelli. Our thanks to everyone concerned

for a great meal!

Hunter Safety

Kitchen Project

– Reported by Kevin Cronin

Rick Alfano will finish up on the installation of the

moldings, and the final painting.

Al Samek donated $100 toward the purchase of new

silverware. It is very much appreciated, thank you Al.

Game – 2014-2015 Hunting Seasons

– Reported by John Herbig

Pistol

Vincent Fiordalisi advises that sometime, either in

September or October, the Range Officer Course will be

given. The first shoot for the 2014-2015 Pistol Season

should be in early October.

Skeet

Serge Nepo is working on the 2014-2015 Skeet

Schedule. Also, club’s old machines have been posted

on-line to “Craig’s List.”

Hunter Safety Course

The New York State DEC Hunter Safety Course for bow

and gun will be given at the MILL RIVER ROD & CLUB on

the following dates and times (please be prompt):

Summer Party…

– Reported by Steve Melbinger

Party was big success and a great turnout. Club president

Ed Dupré thanked Ken Warren, Steve Melbinger and Kevin

Cronin for all their efforts.

Ken Warren thanked Bob Harrington for supplying all the

clams (raw and baked); Bill Jones for the corn; and, Joe

Rodgers, Bob Sniffen and Rick Alfano for supplying the

steamers.

Rules Committee

President Ed Dupré advises that the Rules Committee

will report their results at the next Officers Meeting and

then to the membership.

Ducks Unlimited…

Member Bob McNamara asked the members to turn out

for the Ducks Unlimited Fundraiser at the club sched-

uled for Saturday, September 20th. Once again there will

be many fine prizes available. Please give it your best

shot to attend!

Oyster Fest

Ken Warren reminds everyone that the Oyster Fest will

be held on October 18th and 19th. The sign-up sheets are

posted on the bulletin board. Please try to attend one of

these days to help out, it will be greatly appreciated.
