Dear Parents and Community We are at the end of a very busy term and already halfway through the year which is amazing! Reports Thank you for your patience with reports. They will all be sent home with the children, sealed in envelopes tomorrow for you to share and discuss with your child/ren. Joint Schools STEAM Camp Last Thursday, our Year 4-6’s travelled to Watheroo to participate in the Joint Schools STEM Camp. Our Year 3’s also joined them for the day on Friday. It was such a fantastic experience for our students who were able to take part in a variety of workshops based around STEM with some great presenters. The students came back with such positive feedback and are keen to get started on their project next term. Thank you to Miss Lisa Wilson and Mr Paul White who stayed overnight with our students and to Mrs Susan Dennis who took the Year 3’s over on Friday. Check out our website later in the week for some details on the workshops and photos of our students participating. Jump Off Day On Thursday morning, we welcome you to come in to have a look at some of the amazing skills and tricks we have developed throughout our Jump Rope for Heart program this term. The student leaders have organised a demonstration for you, before the children move into groups to show off their skills at various stations, which we encourage you to participate in also. Just a reminder that Jump Rope sponsorship forms and money were due back on Monday so if you haven’t returned them, can you please do so as soon as possible. Even if they are empty, they need to be returned. Thank you. Naming School Clothes Unfortunately, we are still finding that many items of clothing, especially jumpers and jackets are coming to school without names on them. Can I please ask that you name every item of clothing that your child/ren wears to school. Even if it is a hand-me-down, it still needs your child’s name on the tag. We have a couple that have not been claimed by anyone so Mrs Lehmann has put them into the spare clothes box in the Junior Room. If your child is missing a jumper, please see Mrs Lehmann. Thank you. Cross Country On Friday, we will all meet in Dandaragan for our annual Colin Moore Cross Country Championships. Can I ask you to please be there to meet your teachers by 11.15am, for an 11.30am walkthrough of the course. Children must be in full school uniform and be wearing their school hat, which will come home on Thursday. Duty of Care Just a reminder regarding duty of care prior to school starting for next term; classrooms open at 8.30am which is when teachers and staff members take over duty of care. If you are bringing your child to school prior to 8.30am, they need to be supervised by a parent or carer until the classrooms have been officially opened, unless you have organised something with the classroom teacher prior to the day. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
