A "New World Order" the USSR has collapsed, the USA

should find peace yet a crisis erupts in the Persian Gulf.

Main Idea: The USA is the only "super power" left

therefore the President Bush must take action when a crisis

arrises in the Middle East.

his army to invade oil - rich Kuwait.

2. Why is the United States concerned about this invasion?

A "New World Order"

1. United Nations condemned the invasion of Kuwait, the UN

formed a coalition to get Iraq out of Kuwait.

2. august 1990, Operation Desert Shield, naval blockade of

Iraq, oil embargo.

3.On January 16, 1991, the coalition forces launched

Operation Desert Storm, strategic bombing campaign - 6

weeks.

4. Just 100 hours after the ground war began, Bush

declared kuwait liberated and free.
