Summary of the Installation of bore wells

It’s a great Joy to write this summary for this project report, because it was successfully installed bore wells in 3 villages even though we underwent many tough challenges and difficulties while executing this project. Finally it was the great benefit for most needy people groups. They suffered a lot since years due to water scarcity/unsafe water sources.

So far, we have surveyed/visited and identified 20 villages of water scarcity along with the 2 villages visited by IP team [Jena, Elizabeth, Stephanie and Meg] and 2 more villages by Kaytie and Melissa in this year, February 2014. We have wondered for the willingness of IP team to visit those villages and their great concern for the fundamental needs of the needy people, Praise God for their Christian love and compassion. By God’s grace through IP team’s sacrificial efforts in raising the fund, LSM is able to install bore wells in 3 villages.2 villages with the partnership of IP and one with the partnership of MWOV. Below is the summary of the installation of bore well in 1 village by the generous fund from MWOV.

Installation of bore well

We have decided to install the bore well in one of the neediest village called ‘Rekhapalli [Lankalapalli]’ among many villages they are in desperate need for safe water, identified by LSM.People living in this village are migrants from Chhattisgarh state and they are the victims of fight between polices and Maoists. More than 95% people are illiterates and suffering due to lack of fundamental needs. They have no knowledge about the Living God and worshipping tribal goddesses and the nature.Eventhough they are suffering due to lack of fundamental needs but they are having full of arrack because they are making arrack for their consumption and for sale to others to earn money for their livelihood. There are many challenges to reach them for their holistic restoration but this project is the initial and great access for LSM to reach them.

At first we got permission and approval from Panchayithi department in order to install the bore well. As we have already informed you in our previous mail of this project we have

successfully installed the bore well on May 15, 2014. Then we have conducted WASH Training program in this village in order to equip the people with the knowledge of the importance of safe water, importance of sanitation and hygiene including reasons for water borne diseases and how to eradicate those diseases with precautionary methods. We also told them clearly the importance of hand wash and demonstrated practically with the LSM team and practiced the same with the village people. Most of the village people are never agreed to sit and learn the training for their benefit. But few of them were agreed and learned the good things and they amazed by the truths in the WASH Training program. Some of the participants are willing to implement and promote these things they learn in this training to other people in the village for the healthy community.

Meanwhile after the installation immediately we have done the work of tank construction and applied for the power connection. We got the power connection in week days and we fit the 1.5 HP motor.

After finishing all the works of permissions and approvals, installation of bore well, Power supply connection, motor fitting and Water tank construction. We have inaugurated the bore

well officially on June 3, 2014 for the benefit of all the people living in the village for drinking and usage purpose. We have tested the TDS of the water and its value is 120.It can be reduced to the level of 15-20 if we fit the purifier in one of the tank for the drinking purpose. Praise God for the provision of this good water and thank God for His people who stretch-out their helping hands for this good work is highly acknowledgeable, because the TDS of the water previously used by the people from the valley in the forest is 530, as we know it’s a dangerous value for the human health.

Many people are so grateful to us and expressed their gratitude for this kind and generous help. Finally, we are looking forward in hope to see some of them or at least one person will be there at right hand of our master’s glory through faith in Living water/Jesus by the sake of this project {Matt.25:35-40}
