Objectives

• To familiarize staff with the basic functions of the main tabs and their ribbons.

• At the end of the training you will be able to:– Create a basic slide show, save, and print– Format text on slides– Insert pictures into slides– Slide background layout and presenting– Apply PowerPoint to Sentence Frames

Home Tab: Formatting

The Font group is where you make changes to the type, size & color of your text

The paragraph group is where you can add different types of bullets or numbers to your text. Example one Example two1. Example three

Ribbon

To add another slide, click on New Slide.

Insert Tab

The Images group allows the user to add Pictures, Clip Art, Screenshots,

and Photo Albums.

The Illustrations group allows the user to add Shapes, SmartArt, and

Charts.

The Media group allows

the user to add Video and

Audio.

The Themes group is where you apply a design theme to all of your slides. Find a theme you like and click on it.

Use Notes• Notes section at the bottom of each page

offers a place to add speaker notes for the presenter's eyes only.

Add the notes under each slide while creating your

presentation.You can View & Print the notes pages so that you can have them to look at while giving your presentation. To view, click on the View tab, then Click on Notes Page.

View a Slide Show

• On the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click From Beginning (F5).

• To start your Slide Show from the current slide, do the following:

• On the Slide Show tab, in the Start Slide Show group, click From Current Slide (Shift + F5).
