My requirements are only connected to the aluminum works and I don’t know if Al Fara’a Contracting has other requirements for the building.(They need to clarify their position) The area’s concerned by the wind tunnel test are identified on the file enclosed and due to the following issues: 1. Ground floor : What is the impact (suction) on the Entrance curtain wall of architecture due to funneling effect between the several constructions. IS THE 2. External Void: What is the impact of the wind pressure of ground floor on the air flow between ground floor and top roof in the external void areas. 3. Sunshades :What is the impact on sunshades (Façade NorthWest and corners – 10% of the building length) of the wind pressure due to Venturi effects and vortices generated by Sunshades. 4. Ribbon Windows: What is the impact on ribbon windows of the previous effect. 5. RS Cladding/ ribbon windows: What is the impact of wind load on RS cladding and corner of the ribbon windows (NE/SE) due to the funneling effect generated by MIST building. 6. General :What will be the impact of the further buildings surrounding SIEMENS HQ. I don’t know what is the main direction of the wind in Masdar (North?), and accordingly, I would know the impact of the wind pressure for the above mentioned cases with a deviation of 45°, left and right to this main axis (record by 10° deviation) About the schedule, I need only a result in a first step. The report could be done later. On the other hand and according to the suggestion of last week, I think that it will be interesting to meet us when I will be in London to meet David. However, I will inform you only tomorrow about my visit because I have to be sure that I will be ready to present my technical solutions to David in compliance with our meetings of last week. Best Regards

Importance: High

Hi Andrew,

According to your email and our talk on last Thursday, please find below additional information to achieve the quotation/schedule of the wind tunnel test.

My requirements are only connected to the aluminum works and I don’t know if Al Fara’a Contracting has other requirements for the building.(They need to clarify their position)

The area’s concerned by the wind tunnel test are identified on the file enclosed and due to the following issues:

1. Ground floor : What is the impact (suction) on the Entrance curtain wall of architecture due to funneling effect between the several constructions. IS THE

2. External Void: What is the impact of the wind pressure of ground floor on the air flow between ground floor and top roof in the external void areas.

3. Sunshades :What is the impact on sunshades (Façade North‐West and corners – 10% of the building length) of the wind pressure due to Venturi effects and vortices generated by Sunshades.

I don’t know what is the main direction of the wind in Masdar (North?), and accordingly, I would know the impact of the wind pressure for the above mentioned cases with a deviation of 45°, left and right to this main axis (record by 10° deviation)

About the schedule, I need only a result in a first step.

David, I spoke with Pascal this morning regarding the above development. He is going to confirm his requirements for the wind tunnel studies. I noted that we will be appointed by Al Farra. Can you provide me with contact details for Al Farra so that I can address the proposal. I also understand that Pascal is in London on Thursday next week. I think it would be a good idea if John Kilpatrick & I were able to meet Pascal & yourself to discuss this project. Can you let me know if this will be possible? And suggest a place & time.
