Crime Related Factors

1. Abundance of negative environmental attributes.

2. General lack of ‘defensible space’ elements.

3. Defensible spaces• Territoriality• Natural surveillance• Proper location

4. Possibility of surveillance discourages potential criminals.

5. Signs of dereliction and incivility contribute to higher incidence of crime.

6. Serious crimes take place mostly at night when there is little pedestrian presence.

7. Crime are related to intensity of activity on street.

8. Vulnerability; Women, children and elderly are the most fearful of bus stop settings.
