NIST itLaser Non-Contact/Contact TachometersA laser allows precise RPM measurement from 14 feet! Our new DT-205L and DT-207L tachometers incorporate laser technology yet retain rugged construction and reliable quality components; both offer incredible value and versatility as they perform non-contact

and contact applications via the included contact adapter.Capture fast speeds with laser precision

Incorporating the precise laser technology and user-friendly functions as our DT-205L/207L tachometers, the DT-205L-S12 and DT-207L-S12 provide

exceptional accuracy in measuring speed and length via a 12" wheel; the larger wheel rotates more slowly than a standard 6" wheel, enabling

reliable and safe registration of high speeds. These superior instruments also feature a contact adapter, conveniently allowing both non-contact

and contact measurement.

• Sophisticated laser beam detection. Safely allows RPM detection inhard-to-reach or dangerous areas.

• Exceptional accuracy (± 0.0006% of reading)• Length and rate functions offer expanded measurement capabilities• Multi-mode speed selection (9 selections allow optimum versatility)• Broad speed range (up to 99,999 RPM)• Hardy aluminum construction, assures a maintenance-free performance

for many years• Large 5 digit display• Expansive 10 test memory capacity (selectable to 5 minutes or more)

• Stores last/min/max readings for thorough equipment/process inspection• Extended battery life (25-40 hours)

DT-205L-S12 & DT-207L-S12 only• Advanced laser beam detection enables safe RPM measurement from

14 feet• Extremely accurate (± 0.0006% of reading)• All-metal construction• Includes a standard calibrated 12" circumference wheel with locking

screw for contact rate and length applications

Non-Contact RPM—use when space restrictions or safety concerns make contact measurements impractical.

Linear Speed and Length—measure linear speed or length on moving surfaces, such as conveyor belts, webs of paper, fabric, etc.

The CDT-2000 combines contact and non-con-tact capabilities to accurately measure RPM, sur-face speed and length. A non-contact only version, the CDT-1000, is also available.

Both models are rugged, portable and full fea-tured—ideal choices for maintenance personnel, machine operators or others in a variety of ma-chinery and material handling applications.

The CDT-2000 outfit includes tachometer,slide-in contact adapter, universal surface speedwheel, cone tip adapter, reflective tape, two AABatteries (1.5 V), manual, and a foam-fitted, hard-plastic carrying case.

The CDT-1000 outfit includes tachometer, re-flective tape, two AA batteries (1.5V), manual, anda foam-fitted hard plastic carrying case.

Precision Speed IndicatorAll units supplied with case, 2 tips, and 1 surface wheel for measuring RPM and surface speeds in FPM

The Precision Speed Indicator is a high precision indicator for the accurate measure-ment of revolutions per minute or linear speeds in feet per minute. Being of the chrono-metric type, with a built in timing element operating over a fixed period of three sec-onds, this speed indicator is especially suitable for accurate measure-ments of constant speeds. Accuracy ±0.5% indicated.

The instrument operates in a totally automatic fashion. Once thestart button is depressed, the indicator will begin to register revolu-tions over a fixed period of three seconds. The hands then stop and thereading may be taken from the dial at leisure. The pointer remains in a fixed position untilreturned to zero by depressing the resetbutton.

The instrument has a large, easy to readdial, with black figures indicating revolu-tions per minute and red figures on the inner circle indicatingfeet per minute readings, without any calculations.

The digital strobotachometer checks and analyzes motion and speed bysimply aiming and synchronizing its flash rate (feet per minute) with a ro-tating object. Read RPM’s on a 4 digit LED display. Duty cycles from 5 to 30minutes depending on RPM range. Sampling time is 1 second. Ideal for mea-suring the speed of moving gears, fans, pumps, motors and other equipmentused in general maintenance, production, quality control or laboratories.Microprocessor Circuitry

The Strobotachometer employs an exclusive microcomputer LSI circuit and crystal control time base which results in high accuracy over a wide dynamic range. Complete with 6 foot power cord, handle and standard tripod mounting assembly.

Totalizing Counter

The KAL-DIN is a small, lithium battery pow-ered, totalizing counter that is panel mounted. The counter is designed to replace standard elec-tro-mechanical counters. It uses the latest customCMOS technology and incorporates an 8 digit,0.276" high, LCD display.

The KAL-DIN operates from a long life lithiumbattery (life 10 years) and can be operated fromcontact closure or high speed electronic devices. No separate alkaline batteries are required. Thefront reset button can be disabled if desired.

Connections are via .025" (6.35 mm) squareposts. Push on connector with 9" (229 mm) leadsare supplied with unit. When installed, with thegasket provided, the unit meets NEMA 4X/IP65ratings from the front.

Use the KAL-DAC/DC adapter to pulse from 5to 240 volts AC or DC.

Use the KAL-DTB adapter for screw terminals.Connections are via 0.25 inch square posts

(push on connector with 9 inch leads suppliedwith unit).

The KAL-DIN can be pulsed from 5 to 240 VoltsAC or DC with the KAL-DIN adapter modulewhich has screw terminals.

When installed, with the gasket provided, theunit meets NEMA 4 rating from the front.

Multi-Resolution Hour Meter

The KAL-DTIME1 and KAL-DTIME2 are 8year, lithium battery powered, elapsed timerswith the following resolutions: minutes and sec-onds (KAL-DTIME1) or, hours and minutes, orhours and 1/100ths (KAL-DTIME2). The frontpanel meets NEMA 4X/IP65 standards. The display has 8 large digits each 0.276" high.

Types D1/D2 Vibrating ReedTachometersCompact Size

Smaller in size than the H Type Tachometers shownabove, these tachometers have smaller and fewer reeds.Being more compact, they are ideal for tool case or pock-et use. Moderately priced, they are the answer to manyspeed measuring problems. These instruments are verypopular in the textile industry for measuring speeds ofsewing machines. Other typical applications are out-board motors, electric shavers, centrifuges, etc.

Type H Vibrating Reed TachometersAccurate—Rugged—Dependable

Because these tachometers measure speeds by con-tact, this type of tachometer is the solution to manyspeed measuring problems, especially checking speedsof totally enclosed rotating equipment. These tachome-ters operate on the well known and time tested princi-ple of resonance. The instrument is simply held againstmotor, turbine, pump, compressor, or other rotatingequipment and the speed is shown by the vibration of asteel reed which is tuned to a certain standard speed.

Ruggedly constructed, permanent accuracy, simpleto use. The instrument imposes no load and cannot bedamaged by overspeeding. Accuracy is 0.5% of ratedspeed.
