    APPENDIX 1APPENDIX 1

    As a result of the BMAA review, certain features of the Raven/Puma are required to havebeen modified and others also require the particular attention of responsible inspectors.These features are listed below and further information is given in BMAA DocumentsTS.001 at Issue 3 or later and/or TIL 0007; where appropriate the relevant document isnominated below for each matter.

    Tri ke monopole (pylon) back-up cable, as Document TS.001.

    On the trike structure, minimum standard, as Document TS.001.On the Raven wing: Flying wire diameters increased to 4mm; Additional sleeving onwing leading edge; Extra batten on lower surface of wing. .Note: Raven wing specification as per Medway Microlights.

    Protective coati ng of welded steel components, as Document TS.001.

    Safety helmet placard, requiring helmet to be worn when flying the aeroplane.

    Attention to reduction drive, as appropriate, as Document TS.001.

    Fuel tank drip tray installation, as Document TIL Series No 0007.

    Fire resistant fuel lines near engine, as Document TIL Series No. 0007.

    An on-off fuel cock, as Document TS.001.("

    Fire resistant ignition switch wiring, as Document TIL No. 0007.

    Whilst the type satisfies the intent of BCAR Section S, a placard must beinstalled as follows:-OCCUPANT WARNING:- THIS AEROPLANE HAS NOT BEEN SHOWN TO COMPLY WITH ANY PUBLISHED CODE OF AIRWORTHINESS .

    Inspection Inspectors must also pay particular attention to the following:-

    (i) The satisfactory condition of welds, as Document TS.001.(ii) :;Axle tie wires and their security, as Document TS.001.(iii) Tri ke keel at rear footrest attach position, as Document TS.001.

    Propeller shaft lock nut, as Document TS.001.

    Check for cracking at the seat frame attachment, as Document TS.001.

    Check windshield, if fitted, as Document TS.001.

    Check safety harness/seat belt and attachment, as Document TS.001 and also seeTIL Series No 0006.

    S 901 Power unit installation features, as Document TS.001.

    S 925 Propeller clearance, as Document TS.001.

    S 951 Fuel line layout, as Document TS.001.

    S 959, S 967 andS 975 Fuel tan k installation, as Document TS.001.

    S1301 EQuipment function The suitability, function and safe installation of equipmentinstalled must be checked by inspection for each aircraft.

    In addition, inspectors attention must be paid to those items listed in the BMAAInspector's Manual and those Bulletins or Defect Warnings highlighting individualcomponents used on the machine. Such items as have been issued (at first issue of thisdocument) which are particularly relevant to versions of similar tri kes to that of theRaven/Puma are also highlighted in BMAA Document TS.001.
